Same for the coast of Florida. Why help anyone living on the coast. Only home owners insurance should pay. Not disaster money. I cannot feel sympathy for people who build HUGE houses on fill dirt or dirt mounds, on the edge of a cliff, or anywhere that watershed is removed to build them...especially in an earthquake-prone or high-fire region. It's been happening in Malibu for years. People want the scenery but don't realize that nature must NOT be compromised. I got priced out of California in 2015 after 69 years and I'll never go back, even if again becomes affordable! It's just not safe.
