I’ll never ever do what you’re doing but… it is very interesting!

Working on a z134 as well. I ended up getting a new crankshaft wasn’t too bad of price, I had a lot of play as well..following along I’ll be looking forward to your clutch/flywheel/ timing videos!

I wonder if they make any thrust bearings with extra thickness for the extra end play? I know that is frustrating. It will probably last a long time regardless. Great video Pete! Have a Blessed Day Friend! Justin

Question - is it not possible to do these main bearings before you put the pistons in, so you can pull the crank and set it back in? Instead of rolling them?

Ya you can do that if you’re doing a full teardown. I intended to do an in frame rebuild, and it kind of turned into an out of a frame rebuild. I didn’t take the timing gear apart.. You have to remove the timing cover of the timing gears to remove the crank. But yes, you can remove the crank and just set them in if you have that all apart. Thanks for watching

@ Ohhh, i see. Thanks! Not sure what i’ll be working with yet. Started mine up last night after 6 months of sitting.. It was making some new clanking, i thought water pump at first.. Let it warm up and the clanking didn’t stop - drove it around for about 5 minutes. It tried to die, blew out lots of black smoke, then died hard with lots of clunking… 🤦🏼♂️ I’ll be tearing it apart in the next week or so to see what i did to her.
