One of the best ever hit singles by The Rolling Stones ! They do sound "on fire" in this version ! Hope they will re include it on the setlist. After hearing it, my comment is that after loosing Mick Taylor, the band was never the same.

If the Stones had continued with so many Taylor solos into the late 70's they would have not remained so popular & maybe have fizzled out. It was time for a rejuvenation which they all agree Ron Wood provided! 'Some Girls' was their biggest selling albums in years & live audiences just grew & grew !! Taylor of course was one of the greatest players ever but sadly he never sounded as good out of the Stones!!

This is the Stones Locomotive train in full flight, steaming up the track to a crescendo , with Taylors sweet... to Richards sour ….. guitars …Jaggers androgynous swagger, dangerous and potent ….at the hight of their powers the best rock and roll band of all time Thanks Jamming nice one

The tone of Taylor's Gibson here is just fantastic. It makes the whole song roll and serves as a thread all along. Great !

Best version of this song ever! I had this on a bootleg called "Nasty Songs " . It also had that awesome version of Midnight Rambler on it. I'm still not sure where it was recorded though. London or Brussels or Rotterdam.
@jammingedward6644 жыл бұрын
As far as I know -- "Nasty Songs " is a mix of the concerts in Brussels and London 1973 - partly also from 1972 New York City

As far as I know, the Stones put the whole concert, named "Brussel Affairs" on the Anniversary Goats Head Soap Album in September 2020.
@jammingedward6644 жыл бұрын
Yep - it's compiled from two shows recorded in Brussels on 17th October 1973.

Much prefer this version over the other Brussels show one, which is now part of the Goats Head Soup re-release. Maybe they didn't use this one because Taylor's first solo's aren't that fluent at places. Apart from that it's a lot funkier and exciting.

That is why Mick Taylor left. On Its Only Rock and Roll, Taylor and Jagger came up with Time Waits For No One, Keith was not in the studio a couple days as they layed out the tracks. A month after the album came out Taylor quit as there are only Jagger Richards credits on the album to this very day.
