This is brilliant, dude. Great job on figuring out all those incredible licks. I’ve always said this is genius guitar playing. There’s another video here on KZbin where the guy shows two different guitar tracks - one in standard tuning - the rhythm track, and one in open G playing those chimey bar chords high up on the 19th and 12th frets. It might have been recorded that way with with Keith and Ronnie playing the different parts. But you show how to play this song all in open G - rhythm, lead, slide…Kudos!

Thank you! This song has a lot of meaning to me, and I think the guitar work between Keith and Ronnie is perfect and unfortunately has never been properly repeated live. I'm glad that more people noticed their work on this song.

This is the lesson I have been looking for! Open G is a world of it's own and you play it well!!

I don't know if the slide is played by Keith or Ronnie since in the studio this part may have been recorded separately, but yes, there is one of the guitars doing slide, another in open G and a third in standard tuning (which is the who plays a small guitar solo that I didn't add in the middle of the song). This song is my favorite stones tune 🙂
