The explanation of dorsal sacral roll using the flex bar at 41:38 was an AH-HA moment for me! Thanks Bill!

Hi bill, for a wide, right oblique axis, is it beneficial to do sidelying rolls in 34:34 on both sides starting with right and then left? but for the armbar roll doing it just on left downside hip? and if you have other points to take in consideration in rolling patterns for a right oblique axis case! Thank you,

You'll find the 2 right sided variations useful. You need the IR on the right first.

Apologies for the numerous questions. Just a quick one : at 30:20 (armbar - bottom up kettlebell) you mentioned that "we have a top down representation at the lower axial skeleton". Question is : isn't the IR coming from the bottom --> up, on the kettlebell side, as we initiate the roll and approximate the middle propulsion of the armbar (which i believe, maybe i am wrong, that is shown in the photo)?? Thanks again Bill

It changes direction to top-down as you continue the roll. The KB then creates interference to create ER with IR superimposed emphasis in the upper thorax.

@@BillHartmanPT i get that, so i think i am confused as to what point in propulsion Eric is in the photo. So, at that photo would you say that he has moved past the mid point, and moving towards late p, on the kettlebell side?

how long or many reps need to get the shape changes? when do you incorporate this into a weight training session? prior or post

All is based on intentions and needs. Some need more than others. Pre-workout to establish movement, post-workout if you lose it.

Hey Bill, can you please clarify what you mean at 7:05 when tou say that "this would be a more top down representation"? I'm not sure what the "top down" refers to. It seems to me that the roll you are showing in the picture would be a bottom up representation of energy transfer, since we are leading with the leg. Thank you Bill

energy is changing directions. The initiation is bottom up. To change directions (roll), the energy must also change directions.

@@BillHartmanPT ok yeah, that makes sense. So after rolling through mid, the early strategy on the grounded side would be coming from the top down?
@BillHartmanPT
@BillHartmanPT 6 ай бұрын
@@thanasismakkas It's actually the same side that initiated the roll.

Hey Bill, regarding the mobilisations you present at 26:00 In the 1st mobilisation it seems to me that we have an IR wave coming from top --> down, and an ER wave coming from bottom --> up, which would stop at the point it meets the IR wave, which would be as you said, the sacral base. If that is correct, would this mobilisation be useful to gain early ER at the sacral base for a narrow ISA? And in the second mobilisation, we would have the IR wave coming from bottom up, and the ER wave coming from top down, and thus this would be a more useful strategy for a wide ISA to gain early ER in the R sacral base? Then the 3rd mobilisation would be similar to the second, in terms of ER/IR and directionality? Thanks Bill, i am absolutely loving the webinar so far!! And still have the second half to go, so i am very excited

The first is early P at sacral base. the others emhasize top-down.

These concepts don't really make much sense to me. Really difficult to grasp what's going on. Not sure why it needs to be made so complicated.

One more question Bill, If you were to switch to open hand on the arm bar roll, would that move the ER interference more proximal i.e. @ shoulder more so than ribcage? IR would travel up bit further?
@BillHartmanPT
@BillHartmanPT 5 ай бұрын
IR would move away from proximal to distal

In the bottoms up kb roll, do we have a top down IR because we form an orthogonal in the lower extremities?
@BillHartmanPT
@BillHartmanPT 5 ай бұрын
Assuming you mean BU arm bar? yes, but the KB position creates interference.

Hey Bill, Currently on hour 3 and about halfway done with the webinar haha...I am curious how a bottom up KB hold would manipulate the bottom up wave during the initial phase of the roll as opposed to no KB hold in which the wave send the delay from pelvis up through spine. I can see how the differential through the ribcage will manifest as the roll occurs w/ the ribcage needing to progressively turn inwards and the KB acting as interference to that dynamic up top. Would it create more of a focal delay @ the scap initially? Hope that's not complete gibberish. Thanks.
@BillHartmanPT

Bottom-up will create a delay.

Hi Bill, is the supine to prone roll = early ER to late ER , and the prone to supine the reverse? Both cases witj the sidleying point being IR position.
@BillHartmanPT
@BillHartmanPT 6 ай бұрын
Early > Middle > Late in both cases if you complete the roll with relative movement. The sequence of behaviors is the same, but the location of expansion relative to compressive strategy is different.

Tried to watch this multiple times through and i cant comprehend it at all. Appreciate the free content but surely this is not aimed at people who are new to this model? Ive been on many courses/ webinars and Ive never been left more confused after watching educational content which is supposed to help with understanding. Hopefully, going forward, this feedback can be used to improve the learning experience otherwise, it just remains inaccessible to most.
