I AM semi and he is I. I'm ten months into my bjj journey and have been advised by my classmates to use pressure and slowly try to back off of it and use more technique. After getting destroyed for months i submitted a blue belt with a decently executed ezekiel. We were both surprised! I love this art and I appreciate your channel sir.

Never did no-gi before and it looks SUPER difficult

It's a lot of fun! I used to train a gi and no-gi class back to back for a couple of years. They both have their nuances.

Great roll, how tall is he? we weigh the same but very different builds. Also would you have recommended he go North/South around 4:47 ? seems like the solid play.

Hey Dave. I'm not sure of his height. Taller than me though. Yes I always recommend north south. It is much harder for your opponent to get their legs back in play!

Ive only been training about two months and this was one of my rolls last night. Me being the 5'8 168 lb man. I can relate to this. I was able to not be submitted and hold them at bay for the whole round. Ill take it as a mental win.

Most everything in life is a mental win. Unless you win the Olympics or become a world champion. All wins are based on where we are and how far we’ve come. It’s a very unique and personal journey. Imo
