Man, this ain't no random gear test. Deep dive into the theory and back to back with some original sounding pedals. I've had this pedal for a while, nailing Hendrix tones at first but it gets into so many other territories. A fun one to deal with. And that gain knob gives it a little flavor while the tone knob offers quite a wide range of tone shaping. Thanks for the time spent watching your video, enjoyed it.

The Ventura Vibe is one of Tom Cram's creations for DigiTech. The whole series is great: the Polara Reverb, the Obscura Altered Delay, the Nautila Chorus/Flanger, the FreqOut, the Ricochet, the Drop, etc. All wonderful pedals.

I bought the Ventura Vibe on Reverb for about $65 used but mint. I have several vibe pedals (including the MXR Uni-Vibe) but the Ventura Vibe is my favorite. It just sounds more intense than the others, and as a bonus has three modes.

Hey, did the lighting just cha- …oh. Never mind. Another great video! I’m with some of the others; not a fan of the graphics. But man, does it sound great. Especially the rotary setting. Killer. The structure of your videos is so well-balanced and cleanly crafted. Your playing is tasteful and relevant to the demonstration. Great writing, too. Clear, but detailed. But the best part might be witnessing your awesome collection of T-shirts and guitar straps. Anywho, thanks for another awesome video! Cheers!

Thank you so much! Yeah, I've been wanting to try out some new lighting in my office/studio area, and I swapped stuff out after I *thought* I was done recording. Then I realized I really ought to do the Vibrato comparison with 100% on the Mix knob, so I just redid it and plugged it in. I appreciate you noticing all of the facets of what goes into the videos, it's what makes the effort worth it. I'm starting to scrape the bottom of the barrel with my t-shirts, definitely need to add some more to my collection. The strap on the Jetstream got swapped out because I'm just obsessed with Couch straps, and I like having a unique strap for each guitar. It's silly like that.

I got one of these, also about a year and a half ago, plugged it in briefly to take a listen, and haven't used it much since. I need to record a song with this pedal! Or three songs! Vibe, chorus, and a unique (certainly its own thing compared to the BOSS rotary unit) rotary speaker effect.

Digitech was on a huge roll around that time of making great pedals but for the love of humanity the cosmetics of many in that series were hideous. This one may have been the worst! I get it, the look of a pedal shouldn't matter, but I do have to look at it all the time and be inspired by these boxes!

Nice axe being used with the Rotary (and Univibe..the more offset one). The Modern mode sounds quite different to a VB2, especially at lower rates/mix. It almost sounds like a Chorus/Rotary blend, or half the Rotary (the "spangle" without the "wow-wow" phasey part). It's quite a unique Vibrato.

It definitely is a unique pedal. Sounds classic but nice and refined at the same time. I've found that really nothing sounds quite as magical as a Telecaster into a VB-2 into a 5w Fender Vibro Champ amp, but this pedal works well when I'm playing more dirty rock stuff through an amp that's set with a bit of dirt. Just good to know what tools to grab. The guitar is my absolute favorite go-to of all time; a Reverend Jetstream. Bought it for $700 used a few years ago and instantly knew the neck was perfect for me. I've since replaced the pickup a bunch of times (currently enjoying a set of Gemini Mercury One Humbuckers) and made some questionable modifications to the electronics, but I highly recommend checking them out.

@@StompboxBreakdown Reverend, nice. Your experience with that guitar sounds like when I got the Schecter PT Fastback Special 2. Unfortunate I don't have it anymore, but if I can ever afford one again that's the guitar I would buy. Have you tried a VB-2 wet/dry? You'd need two Champs, or just two amps. Your Champ and another one, and ofc an ABY to correct the phase, iso, and ground lift. It's worth it tho. Best Chorus I've ever heard is a VB-2 with a wet/dry rig.

I remember really wanting this one (along with the Obscura) because they were on discount and looked cool. But then I listened to some demos and decided that they're not for me. Now you're making m look them up, but they've gone up in price since they're no longer in production.

I wonder if it's the type of pedal that Digitech 2.0 will bring back as part of their lineup. I'm also curious how much longer we'll see pedal makers stretch 30 algorithms across 10 pedals with 3 modes, versus just providing a host platform and then licensing access to those algorithms. I kind of like what Eventide is doing with their dot9 series pedals and the H9/H90.

@@StompboxBreakdown Yup, I saw Universal Audio's new line of pedals and basically wondered why they don't sell one box and a mobile app. Sure, the physical knobs are the best way to use a pedal. But at this point, it's just software in a box.

Nice one tone brotha. The neo vent pedals are great for that ramping and control , I find them to put a bit of noise on my signal chains but that could be my own issue. Can't recommend them more for the ramping either being slow and satisfying or quite fast which is how "real" Leslies seem to change rates when I've seen them in the wild, the spinning box can get spinning very quickly and then quickly slow down too. The Wilson haze does not ramp but has a big rate knob and nice level boost available, great solution for pitch vibrato as well as phasey vibey sounds. It's analog but not photocell and just works great

Thanks! I didn’t do anything to dress it up, so if you like the way it sounds, that’s what you’ll get! I think this pedal really is a sleeper, as a lot of people just don’t spend the time to explore the modes and the meaning of the knobs. Hope you find a deal and enjoy it.

This was one of the first pedals I bought when I was getting into them a few years back. I've bought and sold a lot of pedals since then, but this is a keeper. Versatile and sounds great. What's not to love about it? And unlike a lot of people, I dig the graphics. But I like killer clowns, too.🤡🔪🪦
