One more piece of trivia, on most of the highways in the UP i.e. (Highway 2) every 1/2 mile or so you will notice a concrete sidewalk like crossing the road. It's purpose is for snowmobile crossing the road so the asphalt surface will not be torn up by the tracks of the snowmobile. Thanks for hi hilighting the UP.

Take the Pictured Rocks boat tour as well. The DNR Michigan State Camp Grounds are some of the best around in the country. And yes the Pasty's are good too. Eat them on the go...
