Other then Rollos claim there isn’t any other evidence to suggest he fathered Bjorn. Both were sleeping with Lagertha, and Bjorn quickly shot down his claim as only a possibility. Lagertha also never had a talk with Bjorn about it, because she knew Ragnar was his father. The most clear cut evidence is Odin appearing only to Ragnar’s sons 👌

I don’t think either of them shot it down because it was untrue. It always seemed all four of them believed it was true. But that aside, even if we knew for a fact that Rollo was Bjorn’s bio father, do you really think he would’ve been left out of that sequence?

I think just the fact that this was even brought up when it never directly affected any storyline is pretty telling. And Ragnar, Lagertha, Rollo and even Bjorn all believing Bjorn to be Rollo’s son means a little bit more than Floki saying he had Ragnar’s eyes.

Also the fact Ragnar raised Bjorn makes him his father anyway. Pretty much everything Bjorn learned, he learned from Ragnar.

The greatest tragedy in the show is there wasn’t more Rollo after he became Duke. They could’ve had another Viking raid for him to repel, more family drama to rehash old wounds and keep Ragnar’s past alive. A lot of potential but they settled for less.

Even Floki knew he was Ragnars son, literally first episode he said how Bjorn had Ragnars eyes, how because of it Bjorn would one day want to become even better than Ragnar, that's he'd hate him for it or be jealous. While there were hints, Ragnar was always proud of Bjorn even of he had a little jealous, like how he earned his Ironside name coming out with No injuries where Ragnar, the much more experienced fighter came out with some. Rollo must've smoke that French pack hard thinking Bjorn would even believe him for a second.

He's known this was a likely scenario since season 1. All four characters involved hint quite obviously at it. What Bjorn dismisses is not the reality of Rollo's paternity, but the possibility of allowing this to affect his sense of self. He's disinterested in that. The fact that fatherhood is not determined solely by paternity is one of the core themes of the show. Alfred was fathered by Aethelstan, but regards King Aethelwulf as his father. Magnus' paternity was never clear, but regarded himself, and was raised as, Ragnar's son. Guthrum regarded himself as Bjorn's son.

Bjorn was nothing like Rollo. Rollo was always looking for the easy way to power and fame. Ragnar never asked for power or fame. He just wanted to see what was west. Everything he did then led to power and fame. Rollo's offer proves how different they are. The life style, clothing, governing, foods, and manners are historically accurate, they did a lot of research for that. But the characters themselves and the events they take part in are completely written fictionally, based on the true figures in history they are named and modelled after.

That's because he was RAISED by Ragnar. It doesn't mean Ragnar is the biological father. I mean as much as I love Ragnar, Lagertha almost basically admits that Rollo is right about being his biological father at 1:13, why else would she respond in that way? In any case it doesn't matter to much. Ragnar is the one who raised him, so in my eyes that makes Ragnar the father, no matter who planted the seed.

We will never know the truth since Odin didn’t appear to Bjorn directly/individually like he did with Ivar, Ubbe, Siggy, etc. When Bjorn hears his ‘voice’ it can be interpreted as second hand based on how the scene is shot. The useless brother probably heard the voice differently. What we know from this scene is that Bjorn doesn’t want to be Rollo’s son… so that’s it for him as far as he is concerned. In the show (not in history), it seems that Ragnar might not have been sure about Bjorn either so his rush to have sons with another woman (whom Rollo doesn’t fancy) makes a lot of sense. The world may never know the truth.

Well, in real life we don't know, but when Ragnar asked about his children, the Aesir told him his son would be more famous than him, and then when Ragnar asked about Bjorn, the Aesir told him that was about him...

@@daianad377 But what is weird is that it is Ragnar who brings Bjorn up in that scene…the Aesir never mentions Bjorn’s name and he seemingly gets agitated when Ragnar brings him up. Then the Aesir doesn’t want to talk anymore, lol. It always seemed to me that Ragnar was unsure if Bjorn was his or not. He asks about his sons then says something like ‘and what about Bjorn’. I don’t know that the Aesir would have outright said ‘Bjorn is not yours’ he raised Bjorn therefore the assumption was that Bjorn was his. Ragnar would have had to ask the question directly. Based on the show, I’d bet that Bjorn was his but it’s left open ended.

Bjorn is Rollos son and lagertha knows it well that’s why she deny it. Look at Ragnar’s other sons they are not so well built but Bjorn is physically strong and tall like Rollo. If he was ragnars son he would be tiny like Ivar or Ubbe.

Bjorn is the great value version of Ragnar. The level of intensity and chemistry of Ragnar,Athelstan, and King Ecbert was impossible to recreate. The rest of the cast were unmoving and unconvincing of the characters they played. Ivar the bonerless was trash
