Please bring another Tale from the Loop with that crew, that was great. Love the gameplay and cinematic style you all used. It was a joy to watch.

So interesting watching this after 1st having watched their actual game. I have to say, I really enjoy how the plot actually developed. Well done Adam for rolling with it. I think what emerged during play was nicely boiled down.

It's almost more entertaining to listen to you get excited about your ideas that it is to watch the actual game. :-)

Never before have I wanted a one-shot to turn into a full on show more than now. This system is perfect. It could be a kinda west-marches kinda thing. Where its a guest cast and everyone has there own character and it can be a monster/scenario a week kinda deal (not literally every week, its a genre name thing). Its just a really big group of kids, but only a couple of them a week can come together to solve mysteries. Oh my god, I want so badly for this to be a thing.

A west marches TftL would be amazing. Everyone's character is from the same region, probably go to the same school. Would be a really interesting game to be a part of!

I've just been watching all the Being Everything Else episodes, and this video goes hand-in-hand perfect with the Genre & Inspiration one. Plus, I feel like now I've been trained to listen for the phrase "like this but that." So "Like stranger things, but the demogorgon is a good guy." Nailed it Adam!

Hey Adam. Thanks for your advice. I wanted to write my own Mysteries but I was struggling on the method... and yours is pretty fun. It seems a bit different to write a story for this kind of game (compared to traditional RPG or Star Wars for example), but that looks kind of interesting! Can't wait to try it and tell it :) Cheers !

My archetype (and I remind you this wasn't that long ago) was I was a nerd but I was uncharacteristicly popular and charismatic for a nerd I even had a west marches style game with people in all different social groups of my school

Adam, have you looked at Coriolis, too, from the same publisher? Explicitly claims to be "Arabian Nights in space" inspired by a middle-eastern conception of the future rather than a western one. At least it says so in the Quickstart rules.

Sweden, represent! I really recommend anyone who never heard of this to look into Simon Stålenhags paintings! My top two things are art and tabletop RPGs, and I'm glad Adam's giving this one some exposition! EDIT: If there's some old-school Mutant:UA players out there that resonate with this, lemme know! ^_^

Do you think its possible to play games of Codename: Kids Next Door with this? (Of course, the age of limitation would have to be 13)

I think that it would require for you to hack the game a bit to do that because you would not really be focusing much on anything but the action parts. The game seems to set a tone with it's rules and KND, while it's about kinds in fantastical situations, has vastly has a completely different tone from what I remember. You could probably hack it and remove the structure the game gives you, make it mostly about action with some elements of the mundane at small parts. Still, I have not tested the system so I am not an expert. Still, it might be one of the best games you could use to run a KND game with if you still like some deeper customisation. If you don't then Fate Accelerated is another amazing game that you can use and you can run more or less anything with it, but the "problem" with that game is that it's mostly just RP and not a lot of rolling dice. Last suggestion I have....is Blades. Blades in the Dark, if hacked, could be a great KND game. All one has to do I think, is create new crew and character sheets.
@BlockMechanics
@BlockMechanics 7 жыл бұрын
Maybe not Blades, because that game also focuses on building up HQ, which would be silly because we never really see Sectors made, much less built up (outside of the Amish episode, and even then a whole treehouse was grown in an instant) I really need to get around and try FATE. Thanks for the thoughts anyway.
