Thanks. All the contract info was cut off the end of this curtain. Only “R44” was written on the end, likely from the previous owner.

@@smallflame85 I believe this roll was not printed with any info (the other owners of this roll did not find it either). However, it did likely end up on R44s as well.

I knew that the MTA was going to have a W line far back as the mid 1980's but I did not know that they was considering a V line back then.
@smallflame85 Жыл бұрын
It's interesting when you think about all the services they used to run. The V came on the rollsigns equipped on the R68s as delivered in the 1980s, too. I've got a video of that sign, too!

so great you were able to get this working, a lot of people I know have been reviving end route signs, if I ever happen to come across one I should probably do the same.

A bit of trivia for your sign: the Broadway letters were all made in Helvetica along with the text but everything else was made in Akzidenz. And of course it has the Lowercase Z 👌🏽
@langstonreese7077 Жыл бұрын
I knew that, I actually looked up the other font akzidenz bc I’m making nyc subway bullets!

P.S.: the Z is lowercase, that’s why it looks to be bold

I have a front bulkhead route sign from a prewar IND car, complete with crank handle. It has all of the original IND route markings, but does not have D/6th Ave-Houston or F/6th Ave-Houston.

Similar to the R46 roll sign. The R44's we're similar to the R46 roll sign. Difference in cab space. More room on the R46 cars, but less room on the R44's.

what's the name of the cable you used
@smallflame852 жыл бұрын
Do you mean the cable I used to power the sign? I have a couple videos up talking about how I powered the sign.
@smallflame852 жыл бұрын
@@Mtaiscool18ds I would suggest 16AWG wire or larger cable. I used a 16AWG/3 wire extension cord, cut and crimped in the terminal connections.

I picked the roll up at a train show a few years back and the sign on eBay. eBay is an option but of course can be pricey. SubwayAl is a good vender to look up and reach out to.
