Thanks the best review of the actual machine. We are tired of watching a unboxing video and show the roller machine. Yours is actually a review for everyday joe laser people. THANK YOU

I got my daughter a L8 20w, but I've been thinking of getting this one for myself. Nice pro/con video, I had already decided this is what I was getting, but this helped me have a clearer picture of why. And, as I said before, I'll be using your link when I do it near Christmas.

Thanks for the video. Even though it sounds like a commercial, everything he says is true. I've never owned , assembled or operated a laser before. I bought a 10/20 lasermatic in December. Received it. Had assembled and operating within an hour doing my first project. I would say I'm a bit spoiled from the stories I've heard about other products. In the second week of operating the laser I purchased your our Father cross and made which I think is a pretty good accomplishment for a novice. I'm looking forward to additional videos that you put out on the laser to see how I might learn to expand my experience with the roly lasermatic. Thanks again!

I just made the cross in 6mm walnut ply and it was clean as can be. That is the best test I can think of. I did test the engraving 10-30w as well for my next video. :)

I’m getting really close to buying one of these! I’ve been watching, researching and watching prices. Finger is on the trigger but can’t seem to pull it yet. I’m a beginner, no laser experience, older (68), want to do mostly leather work (lots of experience there) - somewhat concerned with the learning curve for light burn software. Hoping the price will go down if a new model comes out. Love your videos! Thank you.

I have not trouble recommending this laser to you. Lightburn is pretty easy to learn really, and thanks to KZbin there are thousands of videos to show you how.

Is lightburn the only program you can run it on? Is there a free lightburn or is it subscription only?
@ValleyForged
@ValleyForged 9 ай бұрын
@@greenvenus02You only have to pay once. There are other programs, but honestly if you can't afford lightburn, I am not sure it is worth buying a laser until you can. My opinion

Was the machine that quit offering support Atezr? I bought two 36 watt machines and sent them both back. Both had issues and zero support. I bought the Roly and have been in regular contact with Leo. He’s great! Quick tip on the Roly. If you use the chuck roller, some larger tumblers are too big around. You can remove the floor and mount it to the bottom of the enclosure and use spacers. That way you can still use the locating pins with the roller. I mentioned it to Leo, he said he’s going to look at incorporating that in the future.

Yes, the Atezr. I loved mine, but cannot recommend the brand anymore.

One thing I'm surprised by is that they haven't gone AIO Water cooling block for the laser, as those are MUCH for efficient than direct fan cooling. But then I mix up "service" tool use between different hobbies, maybe they haven't thought of it?
@ValleyForged
@ValleyForged 7 ай бұрын
I think the fan has dual use as it also pushes the smoke away even without an air assist. Just a guess is this is above my pay grade :)

🤔 I wonder if they could rework things to use the air assist incoming air as the laser module cooling source and remove that fan completely. Would also help keep the module clean(er) long-term because it wouldn’t be circulating the inner warm-smoke air like the current fan does. Might need to boost the air-assist flow capacity to compensate, but that’s a nice stationary unit that can be optimized and noise-managed independently of the moving laser module.

I know they are working on a whole new system. I don't know enough about the internal structure to know if your idea works. Nice that you are thinking in other ways though. That is half the fun.

What do you mean that there is nothing below the honeycomb? From all the images of the LaserMatic I've seen, it is fully enclosed with a metal floor that's removable if you want to engrave something below the unit. Did you remove the metal bottom piece?
@dvalinut
@dvalinut 11 ай бұрын
I think that was just poorly worded. I think he meant there is nothing directly touching under the honeycomb.
@ValleyForged
@ValleyForged 11 ай бұрын
Yes, it has a metal floor. It is just far below the honeycomb bed, so it does not effect the laser in any way.

Is it possible to change the laser fan? So is there a visible plug? Than i would change it against a noctua silent fan or else.
@ValleyForged
@ValleyForged 3 ай бұрын
On the module? You would have to find the same size and power. It is not the same size as a computer fan.

I am happy to put my name behind this one. Roly really does have a tremendous product. I never have to second guess if it will work the way it should, which is so much less stress. I think the 30w is back in stock soon. Use my link of course, and keep me posted on how you like it. :)

Should I be worried about keeping this machine in my garage if it gets up to 95 degrees in the garage?
@ValleyForged
@ValleyForged 7 ай бұрын
That is probably fine, but I would try to keep it a little cooler when running it for long periods. I think when it gets colder can be more of an issue.
