If youve got a large area to cover, if it's all mixed with water at once, will any mixed remainders be ok to to apply at a later date? How long will it "keep" for?

The directions on the bucket call for 50-70 percent dilution. Do you find 100 percent easier to work with? Also, have you ever tried using a garden sprayer that is rated for stains?

My goal is to do my red brick fireplace white. I've never done this and have been reading up on all the different products and procedures. I'm down to two - stain and lime wash. Why is lime wash better? Please compare the two for me - ease of application, how many coats, surface prep, breathability of the brick, durability, flaking off. Also is lime wash the same as German schmear? Thx so much!

The lime wash allows the bricks to breath, regular paint doesn’t. The lime wash is thinner, and you can see all the details of the brick.

How long does the Romabio Lime Wash last over time? Does it need to be redone every few years, or does it hold up for 20? Does the lime wash ever start to peel?

No romabio limewash does not peel. It will start to fade naturally after time with rain. I am not sure the amount of years it takes to be significant but I have never heard of anyone having to redo limewash after a few years. You can always add a clear coat that they have to preserve the look for a longer time.

After the whitewash cures over exterior brick, how durable is the finish and how long will it last with normal weathering (Charlotte, NC)? Brick is from a house built in 1972.

Yes and any airless paint sprayer will work well. 👍🏽

my porch is also brick and i want to do the whole house. does it hold up with foot traffic? also, if i want a more solid finish what ratio of product to water do you recommend?

I asked Romabio and they said the limewash is not designed for foot traffic. I used a latex paint on my porch

When I’m ready to apply second coat. Do I wet the first coat and then apply?

It would be easier to apply that way. But not entirely necessary. On my house I probably would. This finish is done in just one heavy coat. Different from the solid lime paint, Biodomus.
