It's really crazy how home-field advantage just rotated in those days. Rams (11-1-2) had to go on the road and play the Packers (9-4-1).
@Joe-th3im5 ай бұрын
The year before, the Cowboys had a 10-3-1 record, just one game better than the 67 Packers and had home field against the 12-2 Packers. A championship team wins wherever it plays.

So True.... The Owners of all the big 3 sports were not concerned much about the players as much as their own well being.

Yes. The way they determined playoff spots was crazy, too. That year Baltimore came into the final game at Los Angeles with an 11-0-2 record, but LA was 10-1-2 and one of those ties was vs the Colts. The NFL only awarded playoff spots to the 4 division winners that season, and LA and Balto were in the same division (btw, how insane is THAT?), so it was win or go home. Colts lose one game all year, tie for the best record in the league...not good enough son, go home.

Great restoration. Those uniforms look so crisp. Puts a lot of the current NFL uniforms to shame. I swear when some teams take to the field these days they look like they're in their pajamas. In any case, great video of a great player. Many thanks.

Gabriel was s a great QB. Big, tough, accurate. A leader. Requiescat en pace Mr. Gabriel. Still have to say, I think the 60s era Rams uniforms were some of the coolest ever. Love that stark, simple blue and white. Never liked the 1975+ yellow stuff.

That Packers-Rams Western Conference Championship was the only NFL playoff game ever held at Milwaukee County Stadium. Bernie Casey, the guy that caught the Rams' only touchdown in that game, went on to become an actor and played the history teacher in Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure.

In today's NFL Roman Gabriel will throw for 5,000 yards and 40 plus touchdowns quarterbacks were real men that played real football back then. Today's game is just a punt passing kick competition.
@lamontbradford46305 ай бұрын
That idiot Brady wouldn’t throw for 1000 yards if he had to deal with defense like The Fearsome Foursome, The Steele Curtain defense,Purple Gang(Vikings), or The Doomsday defense(Cowboys).

I just read an article about how nobody is going to draft running backs this draft. they seem to gave gone out of style, instead we get to see patrick mahomes throwing the ball 49 times during a game and because the rules won't allow you to even breathe on a reciever, or if you touch them slightly on the hip or something it's Pass interference. Can't touch them past 5 yards, ref's penalty happy, "targeting" etc etc etc. This is why I used to love collage football but now it's going the same way.

Looked like a very dubious PI call on the Rams at the 18:50 mark that was a huge part of cutting the 10 point Viking deficit. Plus, Gabe was contacted at the 1 on the safety. Fairly sure today they would mark at the 1.

As a kid in So Cal these Rams were my guys. This duo of games perfectly captures my youthful consternation that a team this good could not advance any further in the postseason than they did. When I was 11, we moved to Boston. The Pats were terrible then, but I became a Red Sox fan and learned about REAL frustration over not winning the big ones. This continued until I was almost 50.
