It's interesting that in its modern incarnation its origins were a United State of Moldavian Wallachia. For three years.

That's because of how the union came to be. After the Crimean war, France with her ideals of liberty, wanted Wallachia and Moldavia to have self-determination (They had been Ottoman vassal states for 400 years) The Ottomans agreed to let the 2 states hold elections to pick their leaders (Until then it had been whoever can pay more to the Sultan) The Ottomans rigged the elections, but the principalities protested, and so they were held again Moldavia ended up electing Alexandru Ioan Cuza, and a few days later, Wallachia also elected Alexandru Ioan Cuza, bringing the 2 into a "personal union" (When different countries have the same ruling monarch) and Alexandru's entire reign was dedicated to properly uniting the 2 countries

Two of the comunist era anthems have been written way before 1947 - Pe-al nostru steag e scris Unire and Trei culori written by Ciprian Porumbescu in the nineteen century.

Actually,it is not a rip off,this version was made in 1860 and the albanian citizens of Romania after the independence of Albania moved into Albania and proposed this song as the anthem but with albanian lyrics

You are part right, part wrong.The thing is that the communists changed 4 anthems in 40 years, this being the most anthems we had in such a short period. Our current anthem has been used for 32 years already.
