First of all, thank you for visiting, showing the country as it is makes you guys unique in this age of overused travel cliche videos. Your video production is above what we usually see on YT, the story of the coutry reveals itself in a cinematic way which is apreciated, at least for those like me who love cinematography. I saw some negative comments, it is what it is, some people only want to see what makes them feel good, but not facing reality will take away your self-awareness and the oportunity to improve as an individual as a comunity and as a country, do not let the negative minds discourage your way of telling the story of your travells. Sure you could do it in a ''professional'' way with planing and acurate info all the time, with guides and translators but it would steal away from the spontaneity, the reactions and interactions, but this isn't a documentary this is your journey, and the whole purpose of a journey is to learn as you go, be surprised by the good and the bad. Safe travells! @@goingtoworld

Romania is one of the best places on earth. Welfare packages the government offers to her citizens are very good. I visited Constanta in 2012 when my son graduated from medical school. My 3 sons got the best qualitative education from the most prestigious Universities in Romania. Education in Romania is very affordable but qualitative. Internet connectivity is one of the best in the world even in villages. My grandson is Romanian. My daughter in-law is extremely beautiful, intelligent and respectful like most Romanian women. Am Nigerian and I love rural Romania. Its like paradise. I like their humanity and simplicity. The Romas or gypsies have always fascinated me from childhood when they lived in caravans in different nations. No nation is perfect. Romania is exceptionally wonderful. God bless Romania.

I'm sure it was hard, but you really managed to pass through and avoid the best parts of the country, our cities, and our attractions and instead headed straight for gypsies, stray dogs in the countryside, and some of the nation's most destitute people in some of our poorest areas. If this video was representative of Romania, you'd imagine we're a nation of destitute gypsies (some who are soon to be rappers or manelisti), accordion players, gamblers, and old folks selling random stuff in empty markets, before going to sleep in Ferentari or our country homes where we live 8 to a bedroom next to our stray dogs. Even with the Monastery, I'm genuinely impressed that you managed to pass through a region with a huge amount of medieval monasteries and fortresses, avoided them, and instead chose to focus on one of the most unremarkable on a remote hill. 10 mins of googling would have provided so many of stunning examples. You filmed stray dogs, empty markets, a chapter on poverty, a chapter on Ferentari (because our most well known ghetto is of course deserving of a chapter in this tourist documentary of Romania). Then, as the cherry on top, in the thumbnail you hilariously photoshopped an image with gypsy watermelon sellers on top of an image of the People's Palace and slapped a big white "Romania" label. Its genuinely so insulting it's hard to believe it's not a parody. I can't imagine that this had anything other than malice behind it. Please, next time, don't come.

Da-i report la video. Si thumbs down.

I also had the same feeling, it's done on purpose to portray the country in a negative light. Filmed before spring, when the country is gray and monotone, focusing on stray dogs, horse-drawn carriages in rural areas, and gypsies of course, including a fat chapter on Ferentari while pretending to focus on Bucharest. The footage is overall dark, either portraying poverty, mostly with an overcast dark background, driving through darkness at night, etc. Not representative or Romania at all! 👎

I am writing from Turkey. I went and saw Romania. Romanians are wonderful people. The person who made this video is definitely a prejudiced and anti-Romanian person. She tried to present Romania as a primitive and Asian country and the Romanians as a primitive people. All the villages in the video are Gypsy villages. Likewise, people who are spoken to are gypsies, not Romanian. Supposedly there is a Romanian video, but there is no Romanian in the video. This is a disgrace.

I’m glad I wasn’t the only one that has observed this. I believe they want to show that those turisty places are only a very small part of the country. And it sure does feel like there would be place for a more pronounced presentation of the good things in this video. Non the less, the most tourists won’t ever visit the areas presented here. So let’s hope that those who will want to visit Romania will check out the chanels that present the beautiful places and the delicious food.

Trimiteti mai bine videoul la guvernanti si trageti-i de maneca. Ce fac ei? De ce permit asta? De ce primarul de la Iasi are in propria casa astfel de cazuri? El are alte probleme, stim, penale. Nu mai fiti jignita, si vedeti ce ati facut pentru un sarman. Daca lasam problemele astea la cosul de rufe, la un moment dat va da pe afara, vor mirosi si aa vezi atunci ce afectati vom fi.

Ever since the '90s, this is all I' ve seen about Romania in the media. Poor children, horse carriages, roma community, it is the common cliche among ignorant people. No question you struggled to find them, at least: you went to Ferentari and Vaslui county. Would I visit USA for Bronx, or some devasteted ares of Detroit? Why would I would try to find homeless people there? Why see that and not Grand Canyon? Anyway, Romania changed alot in the last 20 years, this is why your area of interest restrains to Vaslui and Ferentari.

Excuse me why did you decide for Romania to focus so much on the poverty and bad parts? None of your other videos present the Poverty in Albania or Italy, or the bad parts of Cities like Rome. Yet half the video for Romania shows poor people and bad living conditions when Romania is the richest country in the region(recently surpassed Hungary in GDP and purchasing power) and Bucharest and other Romanian cities are some of the safest cities in the whole of Europe. This is such a small part of what Romania has to offer, I've visited most of the country except the south. This video is showing the worst parts of the country they went straight on to recording poverty, chavs, stray dogs, gypsies, poor conditions and the worse neighborhood in Romania renowned for poverty, They've been to so many beautiful places but decided to record only the worst parts, probably that's all they've known sadly. Like someone suggested they should visit and I quote: "1. to visit the country from April to mid-September so that you can enjoy the good weather and beautiful nature and 2. to visit the Middle Ages monasteries in Moldova (Suceava, Neamt, Ceahlau mountain, Lacul Rosu, Cheile Bicazului area, Brasov or Busteni, Sinaia, Bucegi and then further Fagaras area - Cozia monastery, Sibiu city, Vidraru dam, Transfagarasan and Transalpina mountain roads, Sighisoara city and much more. Romania has an interesting though mostly dramatic history, but you will certainly not get bored there. It has certainly a great variety of writers, poets and playwriters not known to Western Europe. Seeing the poverty in some villages may be like the right path for portraying a country as being poor/uneducated mainly to attract more views on KZbin, (just like reporters do to spread misinformation for money) but it also contributes to a certain general negative and false view that most Western Europe continues to have over Eastern and central European countries. To put it in perspective, it would be like me filming the prostitutes, pimps and drugs dealers/addicts in Frankfurt or any other big city in Germany presenting it as a typical German city or as representative for the German culture, which it is NOT (N.B. I do not know where you are from so this reference is not personal)." Hope you manage to read more and discover better parts than you did.

After how many gypsies I saw in this video, you would think that Romanians are half gypsies. Yes, we also had our gypsies like all of Europe, but the last arrivals were from the camps of Nazi Germany. Hitler gathered all the gypsies from all over Europe in the concentration camps and after the war no country welcomed them back, only Romania offered them citizenship. We respect them and do not forget that in the two WW1 and WW2 they fought side by side with the Romanians for their country. Gypsies are our artists, our musicians and they are not violent. There are still disputes between clans, but not with the Romanians. And by the way, Ferentari is a safe area and it's not a ghetto it's an area of cheap old blocks where low income people live. In this video it seems that the authors are racist. By the way, I'm not a Gypsy but I appreciate their great artists (lăutari) like Fărămita Lambru or our great violinist who was Ion Voicu. The Romanian people gave Voicu a Stradivarius. Dear "Going to World", I'm going to give you tips and tricks to understand Romanians. First listen to their traditional music - Domnica Trop, Gheorghe Zamfir, Ioan Bocşa, Frații Petreuși. Angelica Stoican Listen -Călușarii, Invâtritele de Transilvania, Dumitru Fărcașu (taragot). And I end with George Enescu - Romanian Rhapsody no. 1 in A major, op. 11. She is from Austria, the only country in the EU that opposes Romania's accession to Schengen. The country that occupied our country for many years. What should we expect? "No people on the entire face of the Earth has been more vilified than the Romanian people. Blatant untruths, specific statistics, tendentious insinuations, etc. have crept in for more than half a century: in the fiction and scientific literature of all countries, in the most widespread books of information (Dictionaries, Encyclopedias, travel descriptions, guides, etc.) in geographical descriptions, scientific magazines, newspapers and so on. All this, in order to show the civilized world that in the middle of Europe there lives an inferior people, with savage tendencies, incapable of governing themselves and of civilizing the country in which they live. The center from where this campaign was conducted, at the end of the last century, was chosen in Vienna" (Grigore Antipa - ''The role of the Romanian Academy in combating the campaigns to denigrate the Romanian people and the state'' - communication made in the meeting of April 5, 1940).

As an American, who has family in quite a few different parts of Romania and who I have also visited throughout the years…can confidently attest that this is a gross exaggeration in the opposite of it’s true form… A truly beautiful country not only in its aesthetics to the eye, but the people whom make up its society are much more refined, educated and proper than what is highlighted here.

Although it looks like a friendly documentary, in reality is not. But hey! Congrats! You know what I like about Romanians and Romania, that they are unique indeed, and despite of poverty and many difficulties, (historically, and economically) , they remained friendly and hard working. For example, they treated you very well, although Austria had a long history of plundering many parts of Romania, and most recently stealing and chopping the forests. What a pity that you didn't do a doc about it. Next time, do a doc about how the wealth of Austria is based on stealing and plundering the countries. Tchus!

Perhaps people see on the outside what they are on the inside, like a mirror . Even if this girl who filmed is beautiful on the outside, perhaps within herself , there are all the things that she sees in this country: the grey, destitute, poor, empty places, stray dogs. Its so often that we try to look good and act nice on the outside while on the inside there are so many wounds to heal. She seems to be trying to hard to be 'nice' is not very authentic, and hopefully will become more 'real', but maybe that is her journey to finding herself. I am part Romanian, in part and I soooo love the country. However, I have never it as it is illustrated here, its almost like: wait.. what country is she in again ? Anyhoo , I m wanting to be more authentic, and seeing her being the 'nice girl' is really hitting home. The guy eating sorici , the pig skin is authentic, he d be great at doing the video.

The video that denigrated Romania and only highlighted poverty and underdeveloped communities is a blatant example of media bias and manipulation. By focusing solely on the negative aspects of Romania, the video seeks to reinforce stereotypes about Eastern Europe and perpetuate a narrative that is both unfair and harmful. The video fails to acknowledge that Romania is a country with a rich cultural heritage, a growing economy, and a vibrant society. This kind of one-sided reporting is not only dishonest, it is also damaging. It reinforces harmful stereotypes about Romania and Eastern Europe, and disregards the many positive aspects of the country and its people. It is essential that we remain vigilant against these kind of biased and manipulative narratives, and work to promote a more balanced and objective view of Romania and the world as a whole.

It is indeed, I've visited most of the country except the south. Too bad this video is showing the worst parts of the country they went straight on to recording poverty, stray dogs, gypsies and the worse neighborhood in Romania renowned for poverty, They've been to so many beautiful places but decided to record only the worst parts, probably that's all they know sadly

It was really nice to see some of the places I've also visited in the past. I worked and lived in Romania (Bucharest) for a couple of years and I will forever be in love with that country. The people... the landscapes... the food, all have a special place in my heart. There's something special I cannot explain with Romania, which made me feel at home and wanting to return. I guess me being Portuguese, can relate with Romanians who are also Latin and therefore was always well received and not looked as if I was a tourist. Each time I see videos like these or, I hear modern Romanian music, I start having goose bumps and remembering all the good moments/experiences I lived while there. I really miss Romania...

Hi, it is so sad that in one of the most beautiful countries in the world and with such friendly people which is rare in this day, you tried to highlight beggars that are everywhere in the world and other negative things giving the false impression of a country that is nowhere near what you insinuate in this video. There is no country without problems, if we take for example famous cities like Oslo, Barcelona, Copenhagen, Paris, Stockholm, London, Amsterdam, etc., we will see similar big problems or some even worse, but we are not only looking for beggars, litterers, drug addicts or thugs that are everywhere unfortunately, show reality as it is, not truncated with adding negative images on top of negative images looking for a collection to make it look like that is normality when in fact it is a montage and those who have been there have you too wrote the opposite of what you wanted to highlight by crowding negative images in the idea of forming an opinion not at all in line with reality. You have been to a country so hospitable and so beautiful in every way that most of those who arrive there fall in love with it and come back again and again or settle there and you "can" or rather reward hospitality with intentionally distorted and false advertising. I hope you understood some of what I said or at least others who were misled, sorry.

Thank you for your documentary and interest in Romania. I have lived for 23 years in Romania but have never been to some of the places that you have chosen to visit. I would kindly suggest: 1. to visit the country from April to mid-September so that you can enjoy the good weather and beautiful nature and 2. to visit the Middle Ages monasteries in Moldova and Neamt, Ceahlau mountain, Lacul Rosu, Cheile Bicazului area or Busteni, Sinaia, Bucegi and then farther Fagaras area-Cozia monastery, Sibiu city, Vidraru dam, Transfagarasan and Transalpina mountain roads and Sighisoara city. Romania has an interesting though mostly dramatic history, but you will certainly not get bored there. It has certainly a great variety of writers, poets and playwriters not known to Western Europe. Seeing the poverty in some villages may be like the right path for portraying a country as being poor/uneducated and attracting more views on KZbin, but it also contributes to a certain general negative and false view that Western Europe continues to have over Eastern European countries. To put it in perspective, it would be like me filming the prostitutes, pimps and drugs addicts in Frankfurt an Main and presenting it as a typical German city or as representative for the German culture, which it is not (N.B. I do not know where you are from so this reference is not personal). However, I think that your genuine kindness transpires from the video and I thank you for visiting Romania.

I know we poorly perceive criticism, all must be done impeccably. If we talking with each other, this almost totally about problems. So why speak about beautiful weather, flowers, etc., if here is no problems? Yes we are cold and closed. But I thinking that south people more open and immune to criticizm. (cause being open you easily can became annoying or offensive for each other). Maybe, again as for nord people, I too seriously treat emotional comments of souths.

As several users (Romanians who know their country like me) have mentioned, I was saddened by this "poor" vision of the country, as if I spent 50% of the time of a report on France in the jungle of Callais ... it looked a bit like a humanitarian report for the third world, but in this case it was necessary to change the title and focus fully on this subject. Bucharest, my hometown, OMG, 50% of the time spent on Ferentari...a friend lives there, nothing happened to her, and doesn't carry a weapon 😂 that said, there are neighborhoods in France where you can't drive in... Bucharest, there was so much heritage to show, architectural, cultural... modern metro trains, show at least one typical and famous restaurant, the "Caru cu bere" "Hanul lui Manuc" etc... Otherwise, you know how to film well, edit the video, it would only be enough to know how to measure the share of poverty of the country, but by focusing well on the points to be discovered which highlight. If I didn't know this country, sincerely I wouldn't want to visit it after what I saw.

Countless times in this videos you have shown gypsies with their dresses casually walking, or horse with chariots. Even your thumbnail is a dress that is gypsy specific, not romanian national dress. These are rare to be seen in Romania. What you did is that you came here with preconceived ideas in mind and looked to find instances where they can be validated. And you did, no wonder. Do these things exist? Of course they are, but in what proportion? The mistake that you did with the thumbnail in this video is telling that you didn’t do you research. You just went out to find what is known about Romania by the average Joe, as it is portrayed in western media . You might have had good intentions, but you’re not being honest. Off topic, I might be wrong, but I think unconsciously you have a superiority complex. It is not condescending, but more like a “oh, these poor people, bless their hearts…”.

It'a shame that you tried to capture all the gypsies on camera. And don't say we hate them or discriminate them, because we don't. But we hate that you, the westerners, try soooo bad to present us as beeing exactly the same and you try to present Romania as beeing a country of gypsies. We have different cultures therefore it is for you to understand that we are very different. For example France has a very big arabic community, but that doesn’t mean that all the french are arabs/islamic. Or that all the italians are in the mafia. We, the true romanians, have the right to be acknowledged as romanians, not as gypsies. Is that so hard to accept ? You will say that they have the right to be presented and heard and you are right, but in this case present them as what they are. Because the freedom of one stops right where it’s interfering with the freedom of another !

I am Japanese. The quality of your video is amazing! Cinematography, Editing, Sound, and drone shot, all are of a professional level. I am curious, What is your profession? Why is it so good? The criticisms by some people are not fair. The point of your video is to show a place NOT well-known. There are hundreds of videos showing “nice” places on KZbin. And it is true that Romania has the largest Roma population (And it’s not Romania’s fault. It’s just a fact due to history). So I don’t know why some people criticize it. I was actually surprised that their “poverty” is not so bad, compared to the real poverty I saw in many other countries. Even the ghetto in US (richest country) is worse than this.

The vast majority of the video is about a market, a poor neighborhood, and that's all, they have some sequences from Bucharest at night, even the intro picture is a disgrace, some cabbage on the background of the Parliament, on the other hand, they didn't allow such a thing in other countries.

@Silviu Vornicescu I don't want to just see the 'nice' area's of a nation. I want to see both sides. I'm impressed that they did this. Come and visit Australia and go out into the outback and you will see families living in these conditions or even worse. Our capitalist governments want to hide the truth of the horrors of capitalism to the populations.

It is a shame to see that you call this travel diary a documentary!!! It's a monster of how to manipulate international public opinion and you did it wonderfully. Hence the title of your derogatory vlog. What do you mean: Romania: Europe's Most Unique Country... I think you are referring to uniqueness probably because you know history, the Latin language was born in Thrace, the future Dacia and then Romania and was taken over by the Roman Empire, and not vice versa as it was known until now... and then by all the Latin states. That's how we are unique so that you know this too. This was communicated to you at school in Switzerland. ? I think not, you know how to wave guns where it's not appropriate... I'll explain what I wanted to say below. From the 1st second I realized this when you presented some horse-drawn carts. There are indeed very poor families in Romania, but not 1/4. It's disgusting to notice that you came up with some clichés from home and used them during this so-called documentary. Indeed, the needy families are helped by the state through social aid, not quite large, it's true, but hey... they still need to go to work, obviously they are not given houses or cars, no one in this world yes, such things are free, but they have an existential minimum. It is true that the state should do more, but unfortunately that is all that can be done for the moment. In order for children to receive allowances, they must go to school, otherwise they receive nothing... and so the Romanian public opinion believes that they receive much more than they produce for themselves and their families. Knowing that they receive aid and allowances from the state, some families like these refuse to go to work! This is the reality, not the nonsense you said. But what irritated me the most was when you were in the Ferentari neighborhood and the explanations presented. Other silly clichés, like... that you can't enter that neighborhood except with a gun, I've never heard greater idiocy. That neighborhood is inhabited by gypsies, as you should know, they come from India and were brought as slaves at the beginning of the 18th century. That they don't know what those basic rules are even after more than 200 years doesn't surprise anyone anymore, but to invoke guns enter a country where only one shooting is heard every 10-15 years, and what's more, those are also fired by foreigners?! it seems to me that it is a bit too much. In conclusion, you came from the start with clichés obtained from the press in your country, and as a result you only wanted to bring out negativism from this so-called documentary!!, something that gave me a bitter taste. I am happy, however, that those who know Romanians were not intimidated by this embarrassment of reporting, most of them had words of appreciation, precisely because many have interacted with Romanians and with Romania and know that they are welcoming, hardworking and warm people, but from unfortunately there are exceptions like everywhere else on this planet. As a Romanian, I was offended by your cliché-based presentation. PS Even the presentation image shows 2 gypsies... Disgusting!!!

Totally agree she a good actress , crazy how biased this video is , and how easily she can manipulate things. Some ho never visited this country could very easily think all this is true and powerty and gypsy everywhere in Romania and we are a 3rd world country . If u watch her latest videos from Kosovo and Albania , those where totally different from what u seeing here. She only show the best parts from those countries . And somehow he changed her policy about Romania like 360 degree turn around :)) Lucky in reality thinks are way different , Romania its way ahead Albania and Kosovo in almost every aspect from the economy to infrastructure , technology almost everything. But somehow she show only the shittiest places here possible and only filmed gypsies and poor people. And best part with a big smile on her dumb face like she is not doing anything wrong here :))

@@sorinpopa1442 I haven't seen so many lies and preconceived ideas told in a vlog for a long time. This is the cliché of these so-called travelers, as the presentation image shows: 2 gypsies, the parliament palace and a pile of cabbage... When I look at that image, I get angry. The way he tells that poor family that the state does nothing for you... !!! it seemed totally inappropriate to me. This state is doing what it can, how it can... Obviously, it cannot do as much as it should for these families, but to state such a tendentious thing without knowing the Romanian social aid system, it seems to me that you have not a single bit of respect for the country you are visiting. If you also followed her in other vlogs from other countries, countries much more peripheral than Romania, and her attitude was not the same, it means that she sent this intentional and totally tendentious miserable message. Extremely nasty of them. And how stupid to call that mess of a vlog, DOCUMENTARY !!?! I hope he never comes back here!
