In my 20's and early 30's I did a lot of Romanian folk dancing at local clubs in the Los Angeles area including Café Danssa and The Intersection. In addition there is Romanian blood from my father's family (one of his parents was from Romania). This music and the dancing still warms my heart and reminds me how we're all connected. One of the ways I know we're all connected by dancing is the concept of a "Hora". The word "Hora" is used in the names of dances in many, many cultures including Romanian, Hungarian, Bulgarian, Israeli, and Yugoslavian (when it was a country on its own). Thanks for sharing this video.

My children's father immigrated from cluj Romania at age 8 with his father. His mother and sister followed two years later. My children have recently decided they want to connect with this portion of their ancestry,so here I am.

Hola.

NOT ALL ROMANIANS ARE GYPSIES AND IF YOU THINK AM ROMANIAN AND THATS WHY AM DEFENDING THEM THEN NO I AM NOT ROMANIAN OR GYPSY
@ChibiMieko8 жыл бұрын
Yes, not all Romanians are Rrom, but there's nothing wrong at all about being Rrom. Also? The word "gypsy" is a slur. It stems from the erroneous assumption that the Rromani originated in Egypt, when they actually came from a region around India.

Wow. I liked it. Those girls are so skinny. Must be Romanian. If this was American dancing, they would all be little piglets. Anyway. I thought it was good. Go Romania!

My kids are very well mixed their father is a immigrant from Romania. He came with his father at age 8. His dad was an engineer and his mother and sister came 2 years later she was pharmacist. They had to redo a few courses to work in the same feilds here. Nothing to hate but is very impressive.
