The elongated top on the queen and king of this set makes it look tiny, but I was pleasantly surprised to see it's actually a bit taller and thicker than the tournament set. A very beautiful design, indeed. I honestly cannot decide what's my favorite piece in this set. The knight is great, the bishop very elegant, but the rook is so unique! Lovely set, and great review, as usual ❤❤

Some of us understand, and we’re not even collectors, just appreciators of a well executed cohesive design. Great alternative to the Staunton and Dubrovnik sets.

At 1st I thought that the set was ugly and I just couldn't see myself owning it. Over time it began to grow on me and I decided to finally buy one. The one I purchased was the Crimson Red stained version. The Knights have an Art Deco design with its chiseled features. By far the coolest piece of the set. Rooks are basic but have a flare that is quite unique. The Queen looks like a Tulip flower. Tear drop Bishops with opposite colored ball finials is my favorite Bishop design. The King looks like a Basic King but on steroids. Pawns are quite basic as well again with a unique flare. I love basic designs that aren't so generic. Simple but stand out from the crowd. This set has it in Spades. Hybrid designs are my favorite chess set designs. Liken to the Dragon Head Bohemia set is another hybrid design I love.

Thanks for the comment! I agree with you, this design is simple but at the same time striking and dramatic, it just can't be mistaken for any other set, and that's why I really like it.

Nice video, I picked up my set back in 2019 when the pricing was reasonable today the same set I obtained costs almost twice what I had paid for mine which is in a Rosewood finish for the dark army. Beautiful prominent dark wood grain a real beauty to behold. The knight’s big plus is that they are carved from a single block of wood making them that much more stronger and durable for years to come as with the whole set. One needs not worry about breaking any of these pieces with the exception of the king’s finial which is massive but well made.

Thanks for all the comments! Good point mentioning that knight is a single block, I forgot to say that in the video. The king's finial is huge but very thick so I don't think it will break that easily.

I think the Queen is the star of this set. The Knight’s nose (nostrils) are too exaggerated/cartoonish.

The queen is quite unique, I agree. And the knight is very dramatic with those exaggerated lines but with it has a really strong build.
