Too many people rush the speech. Branagh's rendition was the best for reality but for those just reciting it, slow it down, cherish the words, get the meanings across, don't rush it. The reason it has stood the test of time is because the words MATTER. The sentiments matter. The English stood fearful odds: 5 to 1 and the enemy was fresh where they were exhausted and sick. Yet they won. Those men fought because Henry asked them to and because they loved him. At that point they had followed him into Hell and now the French stood between them and home. Those longbowmen smartly aimed their shafts into the French flanks and drove them into the muddy morass in the center where the horses went down and the armored knights floundered. Then Henry and his troops went in and killed them hand-to-hand. The flower of French chivalry died on that field but few of Henry's men died. You should know that the man who farms that field now is the descendant of the man who owned it back then and fought for the French. He doesn't like people stopping and gawking at the place, especially British people. After all the centuries, it still smarts.

Tremendous! Brava ! I have done a bit of Bill's stuff in my life, but aged out on this role...never got a chance to try it.... Or Romeo? Tybalt? Hamlet? You name it... But your version hits all the numbers! Brilliant! Thank you so much for your work. If we stay focused on what it all means, his extraordinary efforts will be with us for a good long while.

I am truly sorry you feel this way. Are you entitled to your opinion? Yes. Has anyone ever recited this monologue in a better way? Probably. But this girl surely does her best. Please respect her. Please respect anyone, man or woman, who tries to render these majestic words. Emma, I commend your effort. Well done. Very well done.
