Unreal a radio 1 DJ interviewing the legends, even though radio 1 didn’t really want us to hear them back in the 80’s (Steve Wright especially never had anything good to say). The rest of the world knew what I knew from the start. DM for life 😀

@@torotaxi1 BBC played DM because they had to. So many times, they were always at the end of shows, as the credits were rolling. Steve Wright never ever liked them, Andy is 100% spot on.

I have that video clip of his interview decades ago, funnily enough later on Gary (without band present) said he didn't like It's called a Heart cos it was a bit " der der da da der der da der deeer duuur"

@@Victorcolongarcia I meant their “home.” I’m from Los Angeles and DM were/are rock gods here. One time they shut down one of the busiest sections of LA for an album release appearance. They filmed the 101 documentary at the Rose Bowl. They still sell out the biggest arenas here in mere seconds for multiple shows. The US loves DM! 😍 that is why I’m surprised when DM mention they got no love in the UK. Porqué?

@@WriterusAeternus well, I guess they did never get to build up such a strong and loyal fanbase because there were many many synthpop acts in the uk at the same time and DM’s hits were not as big in the uk in the early years as they were in Europe. By the time they reached their pinnacle they were selling 100.000 albums in the uk, which is ridiculous compared to Germany, France, Spain or even Usa. And those albums were when they built their original fanbase. They would get diminishing returns from that point onwards. Now they sell 25.000 in the uk. Just absurd 🤣 I see why they say “no love”, they now live in California by the way 🤟

@@JeenFab quite easy, actually, they are different of course. but seriously, I liked them earlier, but then something broke.. and Bono being behind every bush, so I lost the connection. I of course have respect for them, but that's not "love" that I have for DM. and it's just silly not to mock Bono when you have a chance, he's so pompous )
