Romance in the way it is used here has the connotation of an adventure, because it is derived from the old meaning of the word other people have talked about years ago in this comment section. However, it still reads hilariously.

Updated TL: "It has a pretty good Makai feel about it, doesn't it? The stage 1, 2 and 3 songs all turned out with a real sense of speed. Since it's Makai, I think it feels more western... hmm." - Zun

PMD version comment: "This is the original version of 'Romantic Children' from Mystic Square. I thought I created it with the theme of Makai. I don't remember much about it, but I put out the midboss when it gets the most intense, I remember that the song became too long and the midboss came later... (^^;; Well then, let's meet again in the next song, shall we?" - ZUN

On the contrary, actually. In old literature, "Romance" was a word for tales of adventures, often filled with fantasy elements. In addition to Romanticism (also known as the Romantic era), an artistic and intellectual movement that originated in Europe towards the end of the 18th century. Alice being (obviously) based on Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, a famous book from around this period of time when such books were often referred to as "romance". It shows he knows English words pretty well, even if the immediate modern connotations of the word make it seem askew.

Not really, I think it's supposed to mean romantic as in idealistic, fantastic, etc. That seems to be how Zun often uses the word "romance" (see Ufo Romance in the Night Sky). It's an older definition of the word.

Even then it’d be romance between children if that
@prayagsuthar98562 ай бұрын
@@kl3321 Yup, it's not the literal definition of "romance". I recall reading some line from One Piece that said "a man's romance" in it and thinking that that was the weirdest usage of "romance" I've ever heard, so it might be a Japanese thing. Loan words 👏🏼
