your one and only loss so far is that one settlement you abandoned in the beginning. it´s really impressive when you can put a phalanx into a choke point and just grind the enemy down

it´s funny how half your income, or more, is from the AI throwing one trashstack after the other into your city choke points to feed either your chariot or elephant. i guess one of the upsides with all those wars is the income you get after each won battle, pretty sure it balances out the loss from non existing trades. the other downside is the needed replenishments

Yeah, constant battles are a money engine! Sometimes it's even possible to run constant deficit of -2k in the early game and fund it from battles which is insane
