Eine unglaubliche Tour von Dir. Kirchen interessieren uns sehr. In san giovanni war die Kraft, die Stärke und der Mut der Apostol spürbar und hat mich tief bewegt. Deshalb freue ich mich immer sehr über diese Videos

@@RomaWalkingTour dieses Jahr ist eine oder vielleicht sogar zwei Reisen nach Rom geplant. Natürlich die heilige Pforte , und sehr gern möchte ich Santa maria Maggiore und Sankt paul vor den Mauern sehen. Auf meiner Liste sind sicherlich noch 15-20 weitere Kirchen. Nicht zu vergessen die wunderschönen Kunstgalerien. 🤩

After visiting Rome I have really mixed feelings about churches, as buildings, especially those built close to the Forum Romanum. If you look closely you will see how much of the l building material and entire elements, like columns, was scavenged from the Roman temples and palaces. Some Roman temples were used as a whole to be simply incorporated as churches. Seriously, the attitude of the Catholic Church towards the Roman structures reminds me of what the Taliban do to 0-class religious monuments of other religions. The amount of destruction within the Forum Romanum is staggering and done mostly by people deconstructing and ruining these bonce beautiful buildings, treating the entire area as a quarry. Like I said, look at the first church. Almost eaxh and every column inside is different, stolen from the Roman forum.

Many churches, in general, were built using materials from ancient Roman structures. This reflects the cultural transition, but also the loss of part of the ancient heritage.
