I suspect that the closed maps are intentional because they force a long war of attrition amongst the top alliances. the longer that Lilith can prolong chokepoint fights, the more money they will make from reserve packs. I don’t really think Lilith cares if players “have fun” so long as they can make money.

Rome is the worst map in warpath, our alliance is talking about not going back until they open it up.

when i had rome, when our allies and our alliance reached the blockhouse, we couldn’t access the other two blockhouses where our enemy was because planes and helis couldn’t fly over and there was a wall in between each side, so when you get to the blockhouse you can’t reach the other two blockhouses to try and push the enemy back you have to wait for blockhouses to open which imo is dumb

Rome sucked big time. What do you think about having an option to reset officers? I mean reset the statues, that we have used?

While it would be nice I think it would hurt the game. Part of the balance and skill is long term strategic decision making and officer reset would eliminate this factor. I would be for it in a limited capacity however, maybe once a month like reverse blueprints for 1 officer

Our Rome ended up with every other team on map being allies. Lots of 2 v 1 early on, but as soon as Blockhouses were secure participation is way down now.. Everyone is trying to kill exchange to meet reward goals.. We had same scenario as You, two of the opponents were safe zoned so they would have had to travel 1000KM via truck to even have a chance at supporting allies.

The pathfinding also doesnt help for chokepoints. The matchmaking for conquests and hegemon should be changed, theres major issues. Thing is nothing will change unless something big happens, lilith doesnt really listen to our suggestion and they add stuff they think we want or they keep the stuff they add a secret. They dont communicate often with us either, so we dont know what they do until its either leaked or until the update is out.

Personally I love San Francisco the weather is the best I find yea the limit sucks but I find it that being locked can also help by stopping the enemys allies coming to help moscow I hate for a more personal reason the white background gives me headaches and to have such a bright background for about a month is not healthy but yea devs do need to find a way to prevent even just people being safezoned but aswell as other players should also be better about that stuff

One problem with the open maps is, what my alliance actually got many times, that all enemys can attack u at the first time, and u have no chance to get rewards. Yes with diplomacy u can fix some rewards, but every alliance will need to agree, and that that happens is not realistic. So u have 30 days of farming and in the last week they play just for fun ping pong ball with ur base. Rome sucks absolutly, but ther are contras for open maps too, not only pros

Similar to what we had in gold 1 but we managed to sneak into the centre but damn this map sucks doesn't help units struggle to path correctly correctly

For my alliance we were shown that we would be placed where HBR is placed. So we allied with everyone on the left side. So it was right vs left sides of the conquest. Anyway once we got in we got switched to where UN is placed and basically got locked out of conquests. Once the middle opened we already lost as are allies decided to give up. myself and many other people in the alliance decided enough is enough and have decided to quit playing the game. Let’s say that didn’t go well. It followed with others moving to other alliances for a few conquests and some more decided to leave the game. So to put it simply Rome broke are alliance. Ps that’s what I saw before I fully left the game so I have no idea if my former alliance is still around or not.

Rome is the worst. We complained about it and all they said is that they are aware of the complaints. After fort opened we had no one to fight. We are in the same area of the map you are in. We safe zoned the alliance to the south and when fort opened they went the other way. The north was our allies but they went on the other side of their map to go help another ally. We were stuck until blockhouse. We got no kills and we just went down in rankings fast. I agree just give us an open map.

the proposal of this l4 was 1st put forward by your ally wtl, and before the forts opened you guys controlled 3 out of the 4 quadrants. only after the forts opened IX and HBR managed to beat you and FLO

Well one of our allies has the same spot as UP! and they handle 3 alliances very well until the blockhouse opened. The real problem is the matchmaking system from lilith is rubbish. When you play against epic players it doesn't really matter what map you have. They can kill 4 alliances easily. Yes you may have some more room in Moscow or San Francisco to support your allies and have territory next to them but the end is the same. And in Kairo it's the same like Rome when you get the wrong startspot you wouldn't have any fun. And I think it will be very boring when all L4 cities have the same map just with another building in the middle of the map.

Rome is completely non functional and an absolute failure in map development. We had a situation where 75% of our coalition was completely excluded from the competition for the entire mid phase, reduced to farming and mere spectators in our own conquest for the most crucial stage. 1 alliance in our coalition was granted the sole rights to combat for this period, with the luxury of 3 enemy alliances to combat simultaneously while the rest of us could only watch in envy as we slid from the top of the killing machine leaderboard with no possibility of every rectifying it. It’s like playing a football match and then suddenly removing the strikers and midfield from one side after 15 minutes and telling them they need to go sit in the stands and watch for the rest of the game. Biggest brain fart of a map imaginable. Fire who ever is responsible, they’re killing the game.

This will be changed, because its not balanced. Only 3 coalitions have access to two blockhouses after fort.
