I never liked the "I split, you choose" mechanism. But here, it seems really clever! There's something about the clearness of it? Or maybe the hidden selection that's simultaneous? Or maybe forcing that crystal to the small set? Just lots of good thoughts here.

Dave is such a fun guy

The length and simplicity is a strength and a detriment. As well as the lack of control. But the "Fact or Fiction" mechanic popularized by MtG is always fun.

When Dave said he needed a white building, he should have known he wouldn't get one since he could see all the upcoming buildings for Lincoln and Nikki. It stinks that both still had white, but neither on the rounds Dave would be able to pull from.
@Spanner1971B3 ай бұрын
I'm not sure stinks is the word. It's actually part of the game (albeit not an obvious one in your first game) to look at the buildings before even splitting or taking turn one - you need to know what buildings you CAN be offered potentially. EDIT - but yeah, it probably does feel unfair, and is one of those "harsh lessons".

@@Spanner1971B Doesn't feel unfair to me, at all! I shoulda seen that and didn't. FWIW, *I* had a white building that I could have tried to keep via my own splitting, but it was turn one of my very first game of this, so I didn't really have any idea yet what I was doing :)

@@davidarnott6085 Exactly, all part of the learning curve! FWIW It's very easy to think this is almost a childlike game, but it really isn't. Suprisingly deep for such few decision points.

I’m guessing Nikki should’ve only had 2 points for gray instead of 4? One of her buildings is adjacent to two gray tiles, but the other one is not.
@Bunny20863 ай бұрын
Her 3rd gray building gave her +2 points, the 4 points total is accurate.

@@Bunny2086ahhhhh, I didn’t even see the other gray building. Whew!

What's the point of the screens when you end up revealing your groupings before the other person selects it anyway?
@Spanner1971B3 ай бұрын
To prevent people splitting based on what they see other people splitting... tbh it's not really necessary IMO, as most people will be focused on there splitting decisions.
@DekuLord3 ай бұрын
@@Spanner1971B I think it's one of those things that isn't necessary until it is. Most games you could do without it, but when playing with a player that will try and game the system, you'll really wish you had those screens.
