buddy Vorenus and his path to becoming a man with nothing to lose was pretty tragic and brutal, especially considering how far he (and his wife) had come and how good things were going for him and his family, but the "I am a son of Hades!!" scene was one of my favorites and also great seeing Titus totally up for the task when it comes his turn to stand by his friend at his absolute lowest (honorable mentions to Marc Antony for also having his back - really love that part where Titus seeks out Antony for the assist) "No man is beyond redemption, Lucius... not even you"

After Pompey got him acquitted, year later he payed back the favor with Lex Gabini which gave Pompey, Caesar and Crassus their ultimate governorships in Hispania, Gaul and Syria respectively.

The Romans had a traditional punishment, sometimes as a legal sentence but sometimes what you see here: sewing someone up in a bag with various animals, like snakes, monkeys, stray dogs, etc. Things that can mess you up. Then they'd chuck the bag in the sea, the river, whatever. That's what they were doing to those guys in the fountain. Generally, though, it was a death sentence. They didn't pull you back out. You were meant to drown while panicking and fighting whatever was in the bag with you.
