I was 15 when this movie came out and this scene made me believe in love at first sight. The scene. The song. The story. I was completely obsessed with this movie, largely because of this song. So loving and heartbreaking at the same time.

I was around the same age. I knew the story, but god, I had this hope the film would magically end differently. Every time I watch it, there’s that strange hope even though I know it is impossible. This song is so moving. Bittersweet. I think that’s what makes the story of Romeo and Juliet rewatchable/rereadable. Some people just have that tiny spark of hope it can be different somehow. The end of this movie was even more heartbreaking than the original since Juliet woke up in time to see Romeo die (or was it the other way around? It’s been a while). That extra 30 seconds was too much to bear. So, an even more tragic ending to an already super tragic story. This movie also made me believe in love at first sight. We were so young, and I still believe it’s possible even to this day.

to be fair, the producers and production is American and Australian, the actors are American, also mexicans help in the production and the director had to sell it to a room of 12 Americans who loved the idea in order to get the green light, also the director had to go to Hollywood to make it, without Hollywood this will never have seen the day of night,. It is basically an Australian idea, with Australian art, with American money and producers who hired British music and American and British actors to make it an awesome movie.

I meet my wife when i was 13, and the first time we touched it was like getting hit with electricity. Needless to say as we got older we could tell our parents didn't approve, it finally got to a boiling point in my senior year, and my drama club was putting on romeo and Juliet needless to say i got to into the roll only because my feelings for my girl surfaced, and i ended up kissing her with as much passion i could muster, after that me and my parents got into a heated argument and i left, and with my girlfriend in the same boat we traveled around the usa until we decided to move out to L.A. i ended up with enough money to propose to my girlfriend and we got married, we also invited our parents hers didn't show but mine did my dad and mom apologize for kicking me out and gave my wife a big hug and to top it all of this song was playing when my wife came down the aisle.

I believe some of us are truly awake and have a unique knowledge that has been passed down in our DNA. In my heart and soul I know without a shadow of a doubt that Love is All!!! When I gave birth to my daughter four years ago (who we named Juliet Noelle) I came so close to that other side. Several times and all I remember is Peace.
