Bachata was strictly done by Artists from Dominican Republic, and only in Spanish. Aventura were the first Dominican-Americans to do it, and to introduce "Spanglish" to Bachata. I feel like Angela should have led this interview, she had more wholesome questions and it looks like she actually did her research on Romeo Santos. Charlamagne was funny but was out here asking these ignorant ass questions. I feel like if he knew more solid information about the history of Hispaniola, Haiti, and DR he could have phrased his questions better. (It would have also helped if he actually knew the difference between race, nationality, and ethnicity. He is talking to Romeo as if he doesn't have any African heritage). I also think the answer Romeo gave concerning Dark skinned Latinas representation in music videos was wack. I wish Angela would have asked him which music videos he was referring to because I don't remember any of his music videos where I saw Afro-Latinas in the video and definitely not as the lead woman. I wonder if Romeo ever had the thought of doing a Bachata single with Beyonce, that would have been a great question while they were on the topic of Jay-Z.
