She is around to 5'7 tall, a head taller than most gymnasts.That makes gymnastics more spectacular and more difficult. She had great elements and stuck all her landings. The third pass was actually downgraded to a tuck instead of a layout, and well it should have been. It didn’t ultimately affect her score as it might have because of all the stuck landings, but don’t pretend like it was perfect. She deserved her gold medal, but it’s childish on your part to demean commentators who are just sharing honest opinions. I’m pretty sure that’s a God given right- just as much as your selfish opinion is.

I think what he meant is that Shawn's tumbling passes were more difficult, and they are. Sandra's routine had a higher difficulty only because of the connection bonuses she got in two of her passes. In the 2009-2012 and the 2013-2016 CoP, Shawn's D score is about 6.3 or 6.4, while Izbasa is down to around 5.7 or 5.9 depending which pass she keeps (girls can only count 4 acro, in 2008 it was 5).

I’m American and I can’t stand these clowns either sometimes. I personally prefer the BBC Olympic commentary because I believe they are more balanced and fair in their analysis of every gymnast. The BBC commentators even said that after the all around they hoped floor would fair well for shawn for gold, but one of them said she had a “chance” of winning but “only a chance” not a guarantee. She then went on to say that others she said could take it would be Cheng Fei or Sandra and then she said “I believe Sandra Izbasa MIGHT snatch this one”. She was right. I personally wanted Shawn to win floor, but Sandra deserved this one. She was amazing.

Izbasa is the US Golden-taker hahaha. In 2008 they were expecting Shawn to get FX Gold, while Sandra did it. In 2012, after an unexpected fall Sandra once again snatched USA's gold medal. I love her with her grace and beauty, oh and incredible smile.

Just like here the Romanian's difficulty was higher and her execution was flawless, no argument can be made against her winning except bias. Tim is hated in the sport, he even whined in an interview a year ago his old friends from Russia like Nemov and Khorkina have stoned him out and refuse to speak with him when they see him at events. There is a reason for that. Tim's commentary in the 2008 Olympics was an All Time disgrace and I am not the only one who feels that way. Apparently NBC got more hate mail than ever in an Olympics all for their gymnastics coeverage alone. Yeah Tim is an Olympic gymnast who won medals (mostly just the team gold) in a worthless boycotted Olympics, cool. Izbasa has even achieved a shit load ton more than him (2 individual Olympic Golds in a real Olympics for instance), along with most of the others he dumps on. He doesn't even have a world championship medal, not a single one, not even a team or event one. Watch Tim's commentary on the bars final at these same Games which was even worse. Tim himself admitted he even got death threats from AMERICANS for his Nastia bias, to the point he purposely had to tone it down, not because of corrupt NBC who don't care and probably even push that bullshit, but because of fans who literally wanted him dead.

I'm an American, but when Aly Raisman and Gabby Douglas were on the team in 2012, I went for Russia or Sandra Isabasa. Couldn't stand the bitchiness of the American girls gymnastics team.

+Ana Pagu Then you clearly haven't seen the footage of Aly being the only gymnast going over and congratulating and giving hugs to all the Russian gymnasts after their heartbreaking loss in the team final. And of course she was happy about floor, she won a rightly deserved gold medal after losing an all-around medal due to the tie breaking procedures. She was not celebrating somebody else's defeat (who by the way won the vaulting gold medal over McKayla Maroney, so she shouldn't be too upset), but celebrating her own successes. She was and still is allowed to be happy.
