Love this. Last night I honored my hunger & picked up a bag of mini chocolate muffins (we have a huge box of them, my dad takes some to work). He came into my room with the biggest smile on his face & gave me a fist bump. He said he'll get the other flavors so we can try them together. He was So happy. It made me realize how much I was hurting not only myself but my family with this disorder. Little things like that make the process easier. Recovery really is so worth it

Tonight at dinner I had a BLT sandwich, and I ate as much as i could, and had some of my dad’s lasagna. I told him I was full but was gonna have a little extra, and I could tell that made him happy. Dads care about us so much, and worry tons, sometimes they just don’t know how to go about asking or expressing concerns. You’re going great beautiful, those chocolate muffins were probably delicious 🥰❤️

Crying does not mean that the video is not positive. I am a very anxious person who bottles most of my feelings because I want to keep everyone else calmed and happy, and crying when I get overwhelmed helps me a lot. If I was not a crier I feel like I would be in such a bad place. Thank you for every video and I wish you the best Ro! You are so strong ❤️

My dad would have done ~ Breakfast: toast soldiers Snack: trail mix Lunch: tomato soup with saltines, sweet pickles, baby carrots with dip Snack: mango Dinner: veggie burger with cheese on the bbq (mustard, ketchup, garden tomatoes, dill pickles), milk Snack: microwave popcorn My dad passed away unexpectedly after a surgery in 2017 when I was 39. We had a tumultuous relationship because he didn't know how to deal with the brevity of my ED, and it became increasingly so when my Mother developed cancer and all his energy and love went into "protecting" her from the stress of dealing with (essentially) me. We fell away from each other despite my efforts to stay connected, and he died after having not spoken to me in 4 months, not knowing how much I longed for his love, support, approval, not knowing how I believed he hung the moon, not knowing how much I would have loved for him to have participated in my recovery like this, Keep going, Ro. PS I had a dream not that long ago that I was eaten by a giant horrifying piranha and spit out like Jonah in the Bible

I am so so so sorry Maggie. ❤ I lost my dad too, unexpectedly in Dec 2016 when I was 27. I will have a think and ask other family members what he might have chosen for me, and vow to eat it in September. I love your relationship with your dad and although his choices are freaking you out, you clearly trust him and his humour and banter helps you through it which I love. Sometimes seeing the lighter side of the Ed is actually helpful, along with the type of encouragement your mum gives. Stating the facts and reassuring you. Your parents are amazing as everyone always says, however it's still YOU that's doing recovery so flipping well done for constantly rising to the challenge 💯💪

As you know it’s completely fine to have a bagel for snack. The more your mind focuses on something that feels scary and overwhelming, the bigger that food appears. It’s like the anorexic brain zooms in on it and makes it appear 10x bigger than in reality. Watching this video has given me so much strength and motivation, so thank you Ro. The fact that you felt the fear but chose to do it anyway proves that you’re winning. I’m so proud of you and to see your dad so excited about preparing your food makes me feel so happy!! 🥰🥰🥰

OH MY GOD I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST ME!!! like i always will fully prepare the meal and get everything out in front of me and then go pee because i dont want to have to pee while eating because i want to fully enjoy the meal and it wouldnt be like, "perfect" if i dont pee first. so weird ive never even considered challenging it because i never thought of it as a "rule," but i guess it kind of is

I heard a lot of “I shouldn’t be feeling like this or I shouldn’t be panicking” and want to say to y’all that it is okay to feel whatever you’re feeling. To invalidate our emotions and thoughts will only make them stronger. Whenever I’m having an uncomfortable emotion or thought I remind myself that they shall pass as everything in life, that they come because they have something to tell me and I must learn from them and then let go. It is a long process to learn to validate ourselves, it is even more challenging to do it with uncomfortable emotions, every single one of them is valid. Stay safe, feel, cry, scream and then take a long breath and move forward, you can do this and are stronger than you think.

I’ve struggled with an eating disorder this summer, I hate it, I hate what it’s done to me and how I treat everyone. I know I need help, today I went over my usual calorie limit of 250 and I felt sick, but I know it’s going to get better. I also laid down after eating, I usually force myself to sit up for 2 hours before I can lay down, it’s minor but a major accomplishment for me. I stumbled across this video and it made me think of my own father, he’s worried I’m getting sick and I always meal prep to go over to his house, I have to watch as he and my brother enjoy take out as we all once did. I hate that I can’t remember the taste of the things we use to eat all together. Getting off track, no? Well, I enjoyed this video and am planning to watch the rest of your videos, I think I’m ready to start my own recovery. You’re a major inspiration for me.💗

This video just makes me very sappy, I am also suffering from ed and pro Ana my parents didn't know but they noticed. Whenever I ask for food or say "I am hungry" they get so happy. :( I hope for everyone's recovery

Wow you really inspire me to just do it! I've been wanting to let my mum control my food for a day for ages but keep freaking out and delaying it saying "we'll do it next week" but there really is no time like the present and we shouldn't waste any more of our lives surrendering to this illness. Keep fighting, we're all in this together ♥️

one thing that has helped me soo much is when your brain is being really unkind, turn your fav song on and sing along because your brain cant think unkind thoughts when singing.

I dont know if this will help you but i was told "its okay to be in the struggle and struggle with it" meaning as long as you are on the path to being better there will be times when its so very hard and hurts to want to keep struggling but those are the moments that help break down whatever barrier you erected . I am Proud of you and the grace you show as you literally show your growth to others.
