Right,,, I don’t believe that to be true because braids are the absolute way I see growth ! People tend to confuse natural hair shedding with breakage

I got my crotchet braids in for a month now and it's my first time getting a protective style going to try and keep them in for another 2 months or longer

I got knotless braids for the first time two months ago. I left them in for 6 weeks. I did see some growth but will never do it again. They were too heavy and stressed my hair out. My hair is fine and can’t take the weight. Took me 7 hours to take them out. I can see the same growth without braids. The stylist said she had to make them long because my own hair is long. My braids were entirely too long. They were hard to manage.

100% suggest you do not get them so heavy next time! It's happened to me before but it was a great lesson. Since then I get my knotless braids at a reasonable, manageable and more importantly COMFORTABLE length! But they do grow your hair out! I hope you try again with a better suited length! Good luck

How did you avoid build up at the root? Do you not use like any edge control/shine n jam? I keep my protective styles in max 6 weeks and i wash in between and i still find i have so much build up at roots

Try pre-pooing with apple cider vinegar(1.33tbsp in 8oz of water , spray on the scalp only . Make four sections then spray each section for 3mins then rinse) and then shampoo and conditioner but don't put conditioner on the scalp. After use a Leave -in on hair only. It has helped me out a lot I no longer have build up . Use every time you wash your hair. Sulfur 8 is good too

So I also do NOT wash my hair while it's protective styled. Because it leads to severe matting and hair loss.. However I have never found anyone else who does it too, so I'm curious as to why you don't. I'm wondering if we have had similar experiences. Can you point me to which video you speak about this in?

@@lolaready2562 try taking zinc. It helped grew my hair. I was taking it for my skin, but later found out that it helps with hair growth also.
