me and my sister were at this show in nyc at b.b. king's nightclub.. we sat right up to the stage.. it was the first time i had seen ron live .. after the show i had pictures taken and had him sign some rare 45s he had recorded over the years.. after collecting his music since the late 60s it was a thrill to finally see and meet him.. a magical night! BTW at the end of the song i say yeah! and thats my sister cindy saying "i got goosebumps"! didnt know this was being recorded but its great to see and hear it again and again! p.s. ron dante WAS the cuff links

This is especially good-He can still sing the song in it's original key, which is difficult to do when you're older. His voice is still strong as well. Personally, I prefer this song over Sugar Sugar.

How many years was it B4 his real face & name was revealed? I still ponder about the big cover-up of Mr Dante back in the Day? The Archies. The Cufflinks. Some completely different guy posing as Lead Singer for The Cufflinks appearances? Idgi 😶😟

I know that by 1971 we knew who he was. He performed Sugar Sugar on the nationally syndicated Larry Kane Show that year.

+Jerry Bierman That's true, Ron was the lead singer on this Cuff Link's song, as well as Sugar Sugar by the Archies. They weren't actual groups-Ron just sang the songs, and they put Cuff Links and The Archies on the 45rpm.

He is regarded as a "substitute performer" and loves to flirt with female show attendees, although most know he is gay in real life. Ron should give Susan Cowsill a "puffy squeeze" to prove he can bat both ways. Talented; somewhat. Master of deception, absolutely. No RRHOF opportunities for Ron Dante; limited to smaller venues. It seem the fact that Ron Dante actually sang every note on the recording has eluded you. By the way, eluded rhymes with deluded which you must be if you think the Cuff links were a real band.

You... you do know Ron sang the parts for many "groups " that weren't real groups, right? Like, he's the voice of The Archie's? Plus most of the commercial jingles of the 70s.
