Not bad recovery but with a rollback you never get stuck Al you had to do is push yourself out with the deck
@RonPratt2 жыл бұрын
Tried it....didn't work. Just pushed into the mud. Even placed wood blocks under the lift to help and they just pushed into the ground. I did attempt self-recovery before calling Mike. I didn't show that in the video, because I don't like using that method and I didn't want people to think that it was an acceptable method, because, according to the manufacturer, it is not. I was unsuccessful. Thanks for watching and God bless.

We had one field of barley left to plant and hit a huge swale (we were told it was solid) and buried a JD with 12 tires, a sixty foot seed drill and a seed wagon. We got the wagon out and were working on the seeder when the bottom fell out. It began raining just before that. It took two tractors with 12 tires each to get it out two days later. There are cartoons showing impossible situations with the caption, "don't ever give up".... Well Done Sir Pratt.

You might try spray painting the last few wraps of the cable a different color (maybe dayglo orange or high vis yellow?) so that you can quickly tell at a glance that you're where you need to stop... sort of like using gradated line when fishing that changes colors every so often to let you know how much you have out. Anytime you do any sort of anything that has mechanical stuff with it, you should have a leatherman tool or gerber on your belt. Seems like it should've been a job for the Western Star. And the Chevy took off with your green strap still on his bumper..

Reminds me of back in the 70's and I was helping a truck repair business with a wrecker. (Old Mack 50's model and 2 stick 4 x 4 transmission way before hydraulic winches and moveable sticks). Went with him to a stuck cement truck. Turned out to be 2 stuck. One got stuck trying to pull out the other. We set up on the street. Wasn't a hard pull. Little pickup comes along and ignores our attempt to flag him and runs into the cable. Fortunately it was higher than the hood. The cable amazingly slid over the windshield and there was no damage. None of the safety protocols you follow being used. Anyway job well done. Be safe always and keep posting.
