Before all the EU came that whole island's in that area was predominantly Muslim, Hindu's and Budhist. Catholic did not happens until Spain came in the picture. Saba used to belong to the Philippines until the British hand it over to Malasia.

Some angry some felt insulted some trying to be educational ( as if we would give a fucking shit about it ). This is a comedy skit, not a Ted Talks episode. +Revie Mae Rosal . Thanks for enjoying, Remember this is 1 joke I did n don't think for a second I don't know about my culture from that 1 joke. I've taught Filipino history n gave seminars on how we as a people were created. I research, travel, speak to Filipino historians in USA n most importantly in Philippines. Geographically we are Asia, our food is mixed between many cultures, we are not considered Asian in many countries, the same way we are called American or Canadian geographically. We do still do things culturally that dates back in Spain (debuts) n not in Asia. Again, don't call yourself Asian just because you've been taught that. Travel throughout Asia, you'll see how different we are compared to the many Asian countries I've been to. THanks

Yes you are right. I'm sure you are funny for others and that's great but I admit there's something I'm curious about.I spent 2 months in the Philippines and I observed many things in the Filipino mentality that stunned me to death. I know it sucks to say this but the truth is that most Filipino people have a huge complex of inferiority and security so they're always looking for some reasons to be proud and what is making them excited and aroused is when they hear some white people telling positive things about the Philippines and the Filipino culture and mentality. Even if very deep inside of them they know how damn wrong white people are by saying these, they always love hearing "beautiful lies". Filipinos have nothing tangible to be proud so one of their tactics is to sneak around to search some "heroes" in western countries who have some Filipino blood and saying: "LOOK AT HIM!!! HE'S FILIPINO AND HE'S FAMOUS!!! SOME WHITE PEOPLE LOVE HIM!! HO YEAH BABY! WE MADE ITI'M SO PROUD TO BE PINOY!!!" Then they sleep better at night. With all respect, is it possible that you bet on the Filipino pride to be famous?I'm asking cuz the title of your video is "Filipino Comedian - Ron Josol". Come on man, you're not Filipino. You are American and I think it's a great thing. My father is from Italy but I would never even think about calling myself "The Italian Comic Cartoonist" cuz first of all I'm not Italian and secondly cuz Italians don't need to sneak on the net to know what other nationalities think of them. China never colonized the Philippines. I think you mean Japan, but it was during the World War 2 and was a very short invasion because the Americans drove them off. They didn't leave as much influence as the Spanish and the Americans.

I'm not ashamed of our race. You're young and freak out before knowing our history or taking any rational thought to what I was saying in the context of my joke. Here is a little history lesson... My great great grandfather is Spanish from Spain like many of our great great grandparents were originally from. It must be shocking to you right now, knowing where you came from. It may be hard to soak in.. "FILIPINO MATRIX". In 1521 Spain did colonize us before we were called Filipinos in 1543 from "king Phillip II". The Philippines were groups of many islands next to Malaysia n we spoke malay...Some of our words are still in Malay..which is mixed with Spanish today.. I'm sure sex is involved in any colonization..so we couldn't be considered full Asian..hahah. Know your history n travel more, kid..Cause you'll find out we are not considered Asian in many parts of the world.. You still live in an American Box. Don't call yourself Asian just cause you were told that growing up. Please read more on our history that we never learned in school, google it!

+Christopher Ibanez actually he is kinda right. 1700's there were a plague that ravished nueva espana and they need more workers to build infrastructure and people to handle them. the spaniards brought filipino to nueva espana and some did stay there and after that many mexicans and spaniards who weren't high born stayed and lived and had families in the philippines. heck gen.guerrero's confidants were filipinos and mexican army back in it's colonial days was comprised were filipino 2nd only to the natives.
