Full of natural talent and what a beautiful style. For me when it comes to riding style it was Lechien and Bailey.

These guys were the best, always will be, charismatic, what personalities! I wish I could have met them, someday, maybe I’ll get lucky enough before I get too old.

He was so naturally talented, I think he took that for granted. Remember seeing him for the first time at the Pontiac Silverdome, and was blown away how fast and young he was. And his boots/feet looked huge on those Yamaha foot pegs!

Ron is the man!! I remember him riding a 4 stroke at Washougal in the late 80's.

Ron really should go on The Whiskey Throttle Show. That show will become a reference of history for this sport, and Ron should be in there.

Man can you imagine riding one of them works Hondas back in the day. how cool that must’ve been. how awesome it must’ve been to have that talent.

Like he said growing up in that era when the bikes went from dual shocks to single shocks to disc brakes definitely during the evolution of the motocross bike. Totally awesome.

I had the once-in-a-lifetime privilege to witness Ron utterly destroy the competition in a race back in 1987. It was the first moto at Southwick Massachusetts where Ronnie pulled a second place start then set a pace I've never seen in motocross before or since. He made the rest of the field look like B-class riders including RJ, Wardy, O'Mara and even Hannah. Typically you're supposed to race up to a corner, let off then set up your exit and hit the throttle. Ronnie did everything except let off. He kept the throttle on all the way around every berm like he was glued to the track. It was absolutely amazing. Needless to say he won by at least 30 seconds, but most likely more. Unfortunately I've watched this race on video and his speed doesn't translate to the camera. You had to be there to see how ridiculously fast he was.

Looking back at 60 years old now that was my era we had some of the coolest riding gear always liked JT Sadly in the mid 2 thousands When 2 strokes completely dropped off the map I lost interest and got away from the sport for quite some time Finally reviving my interest in 2019 I bought a brand new YZ 125 At 1st I wasn't quite sure how it would go or if I was doing the right thing So I was quite surprised at how quickly the motor mechanics came back and how much fun I had missed So when I hear Ron speak of going out and having fun and getting a workout and being safe I can totally relate because that was my overall objective for getting back into it Best move I ever made...

I wish Honda would reproduce one of those 80's works bikes for sale. I think they would sell every one that they make. More guys drooled over those bikes than probably any other bike made.
