Lolita's Vet Dr.Jim Mcbain who is considered to be 1 of the best Killer Whale Vets in the World said she was ready to Fly Home to a sea pen. Keiko was moved to a sea pen after being 20 years in Captivity/concrete tank/artificial environment and he enjoyed the sea pen in the ocean and going out on walks in the Ocean. Ron Magill exposed himself and the Captive Billion Dollar Aquarium/Circus and Zoo Industry, he along with the rest of the Zoo Business could have done something for Lolita to get her out of the tiny tank and move her to a better tank or give her a retirement or even bring her back to her family which is an endangered species to grow the wild population. Instead, she had to live in that Tiny embarrassment of a tank making MILLIONS of Dollars for her Owners doing Circus shows, and we learned nothing about killer whales watching these circus shows.

What applies to humans also applies to orcas since they are so similar, in almost anything, to us. If a human after 50 yrs sentence is to be reunited with their family so should an orca. Especially if their mother and siblings are still out there.

I assume he’s got a lot of personal things to deal with after his brother’s passing, plus his parents are grieving and elderly (with all that can come with advanced aging) and, although I haven’t heard anything specific, may have their own health issues that can come with getting older. Plus, he has to think about the pirate ship not drifting off course or falling off the edge of the Earth (thank you, Kyrie). And whatever other stuff we have no idea about. A lot on his plate (no fat jokes, please).

I’m left handed, I was always musically inclined. But I failed art twice in high school (see smearing when you write or draw) ball point pens have eliminated the hand smearing problem while writing though. Also, you can get a scholarship for being left handed. Add to the hacks list.

The cognitive dissonance amazes me... How does Ron see orcas being kept in tanks as animal cruelty while he has no issues with lions being kept in cages at the zoo? They're equally cruel in my view. I'd love to hear him explain how/why the zoo is OK.

I'm pretty sure he has... I'm paraphrasing but I believe he has said. 1. Ron has said that all zoos should be participating in conservation efforts in one way or another. He has said you should not trust Zoos that don't. 2. Piggybacking on point 1, having animals that people can go see has significantly helped in raising money and awareness to protect endangered habitats. Essentially its more affective to show someone a panda live and say "they need help please donate to a charity that helps them" than too show someone a picture of a panda and say the same thing. 3. The Zoos that Ron supports have actual enclosures that are fairly large (not cages), the orca was kept in a tank that was too small which can stunt the animals growth and cause other issues. Enclosures are generally large enough that there won't be any medical issues cause by it like you would see with animals kept in cages.

Ron believes all animals belong in the wild, but understands why zoos can be good if they treat their animals well, promote knowledge/understanding, AND most importantly, give back to conservation. Furthermore, Ron is also clear that zoo animals should all be captive bred ... which implies they can't live without the help of humans ... unless one offs when the animal is injured OR it's close to extinction because of human exploitation.
