It flies really nicely. Though I have the feeling that rotation was somewhat elevator assisted. And I think I'm right in saying that the Experimental Airlines Synapse design was Ron's inspiration for this one. Great job Ron!

lol. I love how you guys are always talking about how cold it is there lately. I live in northern Ontario Canada and we're lucky if we can fly 6 mths out of the year. it gets so cold here at times that your servos will freeze up in mid air. Great plane Ron.. keep bringing us more. Cheers.

G'day, Yay Team ! Nice to see Ron's use of the self-forming Dynamic-Pneumatic Aerodynamic Leading-Edge, for his Fuselage-Nose...; I started using them on SunFoils a couple of years ago, finding that they're vastly more efficient than bothering to build anything Curvy to try to "guide" the Airflow, because the Slipstream will slide around the High-Pressure Zone which forms ahead of the Flat-Plate Leading-Edge..., and it'll optimise the Pathway to match the whole range of Speeds & Angles-of-Attack... Then Coanda Effect & the Fineness-Ratio damps out any turbulent Waves in the Flow, and it's what happens at the Trailing-Edge which is a lot more critically-dependant on the shape of the Structure... ;-p Ciao !

ah experimental airlines design. i bult the canard plane frm experimental airlines. loved it. such a great concept. a single design for fuselage and wing that can be adapted to make multiple different planes
@rcjoseb8 жыл бұрын
Nice plane Ron! Reminds me of the one Ed from Experimental airlines built.
@Wearyman8 жыл бұрын
It IS the same plane. That's a Synapse Experimental Airlines flying wing. Ron has altered the body tube a bit and changed the landing gear to accommodate a larger prop, but those wings are unmistakable. ron made a great choice and clearly did a great job with it. Looks like he actually used sheet lamination on it rather than packing tape. Such a nice finish on that.
@Ron-ys2en8 жыл бұрын
yep I cut a foam packer instead of using strips of foamboard and also covered it with signwriters vinyl. The body a bit rough as its just 4 strips of foamboard glued with hot glue
@Wearyman8 жыл бұрын
+Ale ron well you did a great job. She flies wonderfully! I have a vid on my channel of my build. Check it out for a good body design for FPV. looking forward to seeing her in action again!

Hey Ron ,its Ron FROM FORD CITY PA,ive built a couple of war birds from dollar tree foam board the same way you have,cut all sides separate and it came out beautiful,,total job took around 60-65 hours the cowl made out of plastic milk bottle, came out nice,but transitioning the same shape behind the cowl took some thinking,and just some plain old skill,always learning......nice job u did on this one,keep up the good work.
