Buddy of mine came to Chicago and we went for a drive, got pulled over, and as I was panicking, my buddy was confused as to why he was getting a ticket for having an open beer in the cupholder and a gun in the back seat in plain view. The way that last meals should work: 1. Inmate provides the details of the meal. 2. Inmate is chained down in their cell. 3. You are correct my friend - Utah and Oklahoma. Generally there are six marksmen and five have live rounds and one has a blank. In that way, you don’t know if you fired a fatal shot. All marksmen shoot directly at a target over the heart.

It's to ease the guilt of knowing you shot/killed a man point blank range just cuz you are following orders. This way no one knows who dealt the final shot.

Theory, since we are watching Bill Burr kill on a bit we are seeing for the first time also....we've IMMEDIATELY HAVE TRANSCENDED TIME AND SPACE, and like who the fuck knew? heheheheh On the firing squad deal: I think it is 5-7 expert marksmen who all get a shot, except one guy. This measure was put in for the mental health back lash they may get. But those volunteers are screened from the endless supply of trained killers from our best and brightest, and now they are back from the Sandbox, and have no issues with the grand or so they take home. There is no chance that the subject will live. All the superb shooters shoot from a blind barrier at a seated target 15 feet away with a huge X over his heart. When the light countdown hits green or whatever the timing method used, a half dozen high powered rifles will instantly destroy the entire cardiac region, removing the criminal permantly non harmful to society. That's what I reckon.

It might deter some, but the vast majority are either crimes of passion (no thought given to doing it ahead of time) or by serial killers who can't stop thinking about murder and will eventually do it regardless the consequences unless they decide to kill themselves first. And then there's the ones who believe they can somehow magically outsmart the cops, or who suffer mental illness and can't control themselves. Murder will happen regardless what the penalty for it is.
