What happens is when we travel, we send our ryder with our Drum/Cymbal (equipment) requirements. We state what we want and often the backline company that the gear is being rented from may not have what we play so we will decide from what they have to use. Also in a festival setting, a company may be one of the sponsors and supplying the drums for the entire festival, so everyone will have to use the particular brand.

@TheWangboo So you're calling Stanley Clarke,George Duke,Marcus Miller and other artists that he got hired by young? Have you listened to the albums he played on? He's very controlled in the studio and super creative live....He IS NOT a gospel chops drummer he took the time to do his research. When he grooves he can break necks too. Look for him Jamming with his brother and Flying Lotus.

@TheWangboo everything's special about this guy and i study the likes of weckl, colaiuta, mayer, borlai, and countless other greats. he's no gospel chops drummer either...tell me one "gospel chops" drummer that can do what he just did. his style is similar to gergo borlai as far as his speed and chops and he's a JAZZ and ROCK drummer. u need to do some research man. badly
