I don't think most people understand how fragile freedom is one Reagan last statement as president was he said we have seemed to gain back our pride but we must do more in teaching our youth about freedom and what it means to be American very very right, the problem is we failed alot in doing that I believe too complacent.. it's real we got to fight for lasting freedom or it will change.. We've allowed our children to be indoctrinated, by our education system, in the liberal way of thinking without correcting them and really showing them the right path. The USSR collapsed because their economy was broken and ravaged by a foolish war with Afghanistan and because Mikhail Gorbachav allowed basic human rights. Gorb was ready to get rid of all nukes but Reagan said no. His administration illegally sold weapons to Iran and set up the Middle East so that when Bush 41 came in we immediately went to war over there. He deregulated everything which allowed for the housing collapse in 2008 and allowed for the rise of consumerism with products like Pokemon and TMNT. He waged an unjust war on drugs which disproportionately targeted black communities because the CIA was circulating coke within inner cities. Reagan messed up again and again. I like Ronald Reagan because I believe he did his best and was honest. Which most presidents cannot say. He was a great communicator and helped the people feel at peace. His policy was total disaster but I still love Ronald Reagan because he fought for what he thought was right. Unafraid. I respect that. I miss that in him.

This speech is why I joined the military. I heard it when I was a teenager in 1981. The whole speech, but especially the part about Martin Treptow had a tremendous impact on me. It made me realize just how costly it was to gain and maintain freedom for our country, and the obligation future generations owed to those who had sacrificed in the past to continue standing on the line serving and protecting. I have done so for over 30 years in the military and in law enforcement/public safety. I have never regretted my decision. Regan was my first President, and like all men he had his faults and he had his strengths. He made America great again. He will always be the greatest President of my lifetime and one of the greatest America has ever been blessed with. God bless the United States and thank you President Regan for your leadership and vision.

I come from 10 blood generations and 2 generations by marriage of some of the toughest, strongest, most patriotic men, who ever served in all the wars since WWII, to the end of Vietnam... We all love our country and went willingly to do our part.. All of us were actively engaged in all those wars, and we all survived them.. A lot of Prayers of Faith from all our Mothers, Fathers, and family made the difference and we all know it.. Most of all these awesome men are gone now, and the ones left are all in their late to early 70's.. As a Korean, I could remember, when I was young in time of a Korean Air Line aircraft had been shot down by Soviet Union, the president visiting the demilitarized zone and giving an assuring speech in front of the 2nd division US Army defending the truce line and many Koreans. Now I am in sixties and see political confusions so I miss him, the greatest American president to me, so much.

KAL-007 was a crime and we exposed their communist lies and played back their own pilots words that they knew it was a civilian airliner. @Erich Von Manstein First Roosevelt was a fine military commander, established many national parks, built the Panama, established pure food and drugs, expanded the Navy, and helped end the russo-japanese war. Thats not to mention his contributions to the Smithsonian and willingness to lead troops into France. As for Kennedy it was a maybe mostly because of the space race, but im not too knowledgeable about his presidency. Keep in mind i dont know too much about Reagan and am basing this mostly on comparison to other presidents, i am open to changing my mind.

I am German with British grand parents. I served as a long range reconnaissence ranger in an international unit and still have many friends who are American soldiers. And I am proud and grateful that I had the opportunity to serve together with them. And I am grateful for what the US did after WW2 to help Germany! And I am deeply ashamed about the lack of attitude of the German Government nowadays! However, the best thanks you can give a veteran or, to honor those who have gone before, is to actually commit to live for freedom, know our great constitution and, fight to ensure that our liberties, which have been under assault, are not frivolously pissed away. Once lost, they will probably be gone forever. As President Reagan so eloquently stated: “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn't pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children's children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.”

Well, perhaps this is a lull in talent, or affinity for such ideals. I personally hold hope, but perhaps it is due to my youth. I’m considering running on a centrist platform some day, trying to be reasonable to balance civil activities to help alleviate issues that result from the inconsistencies of our system, while allowing as much liberty and freedom that is permissible that does not infringe upon that of others. This beautiful nation’s sovereignty is extremely important in keeping those of us whom value liberty and peace safe from those whom would sooner bow to tyrants. Not sure how I’ll approach our problems as I have yet to ascertain what they will be once I’m old enough to run for office. Maybe...hopefully there will be others like me, who dream the same dream, or possibly a better one, in this I rest my hope in the future. For if I fail, perhaps there will be others whom will jump to lady liberty’s side, and protect the land I hold dear.

Does anyone know if it is true that if things get to war that America, sooner than any other country, will help England? If so why? At the risk of portraying myself as a Russian, it has been said that no one likes Russians and that American's have always been saying that Russians are blackboard scientists. What is all of this hype about science, religion, business, politics and money? Since when did money become important and why? Why does it seem that all of humanity is willing to become what in impression is a bunch or immoral sluts who are willing to interact with anyone in the name of science or some other invention of others who we do not see or are unaware of their intentions towards us? It seems like that all of us that we see or not see agree that we are a part of nature and the universe and that we collectively brainwash each other that there is something called the universe that we are all a part of and that nature is simply like that and that we are all a part of nature until something violent happens and then we say that we are part of nature and that the natural universe is just like that. If you go against science and scientific research then people will just laugh at you. Can it be considered for a moment that science can be a fraud. A fraud that is invented by a small elite of scientists who turn everything into a religion and think that all of us should be doing the same thing? That everything and all life as we know it started during the industrial revolution in England and everything went from left to right...... Is that on a map of the world or on a globe? Is all of that true of science or is a trap by a small scientific / religious / money thirsty / small groups of entities who have invented an answer to the natural universe and want all of us to believe in it because according to then there is some great goal and and to everything? Scientists who are brainwashing the rest of us?

I am Scottish. My uncle emigrated to America, served in Vietnam, got a lot of help from the VFW upon his return, died in America potentially with cancerous cataracts from Agent Orange. He wouldn't have had it any other way. He lived and died for the United States of America. My only regret is that by the time I was old enough to drink I never made it down to his local in New Jersey with him, he was too sick to join me. When I hear speeches like this I know where his love and pride came from, Reagan was a giant and embodies everything he believed in. Rest in peace Uncle Bobby.

My youngest son is leaving for Boot Camp at Fort Moore, GA on March 16th, 2024 to follow his brother. I couldn’t ask for anything more.
