The XY dub used a cover of the first season's theme song, so it's pretty much cheating when evoking that nostalgic feel; but what makes Getta Banban different is that it *feels* nostalgic with no familiarity of the series required for it to do so. Then when you actually hear the song again years later, the nostalgia is magnified because you have the default feeling of nostalgia stacked with actual nostalgia. It's like nostalgia².

it has been 3 years since X Y ended. I'm still waiting for Serena to come back, hopefully she will since I'm an AmourShipper. This Anime will always be in my heart. Can't wait for them to come back! Sit down, my children. I have a story to tell. Back during my Pokémon phase of 2017, I knew this song, and I listened to it frequently. It had been 4 years, so I looked up the song again. I had felt a feeling of pure nostalgia, something I hadn’t felt in a long long time. Nostalgia by definition is the reminiscing of a time where the world seemed more pure and happy, and this is exactly what I felt after hearing this song after 4 whole years. Boy oh boy, my Pokémon Phase was kinda cringeworthy, but hell, I got a lot of happy memories out of it.

For anime standards, XY Saga is still the best, my favorite pieces of storytelling in Pokémon go like: Pokémon Colosseum/XD Gale of Darkness (this ones a bit of a bias pick) > Adventures > B2W2 > Explorers of Time > XY Saga Anime > everything else
