The best description I’ve heard about Neymar is that “Neymar is a player who unfortunately got stuck between two different generations of football”. He rose to the top during a time where football was making a transition and was the first modern KZbin sensation of football, but in terms of style of play, belonged in the previous generation of players like Dinho. I think Neymar’s biggest issue was realizing the game was more changing towards a system based game instead of letting your star players cook with freedom. He looks like the type of guy who just wants to have fun on the pitch because he’s absolutely elite technically anyways. Probably had enough of all the coaches suppressing his talent. In terms of ability Neymar’s easily clear imo, but Ronaldo’s consistency and records + ability have to count for something in these type of debates.

Hands down the best football podcast. Best vibes, good and bad takes (which is what it's all about) and every video/podcast is a banger. Never disappoints. I didn't even come here knowing who Sharky, Starz, Faysal etc are. Came here as a new neutral and look forward every upload. I do think though Sharky, I know it's tough to probably ever have Shaun back on, but I think when the time is right, that's something you should look into. I think people can forgive him, however there's also other aspects like sponserships and relations etc. that obviously can be damaged. He can have a new role and not be there every week of course, or even expand the table on certain topics and episodes, although 4 people seems to have a more intimate effect which is perfect. Reason I say that and I don't think too many would disagree, it just felt 'right' to have Shaun, Starz and Sharky as the main trio but at the same time that takes nothing away from Fayz!

But in terms of the player quality, anyone with a small clue knows that ronaldo with all due respect just isn't anywhere near messi. If one guy beats the other in the one thing he's so known for being great at and adds a whole list of other capabilities to it, I'd say it's a pretty damn clear case. Lampard and De Bruyne are both great midfielders and 2 totally different types of players, this is why it's so hard to compare great players. Lampard's finishing/shooting is the best of all time for a premier league midfielder as well as having elite passing, whereas De Bruyne's passing is probably the best of all time in the premier league as well as having elite finishing/shooting. De Bruyne is probably the better the footballer slightly due to his better first touch, ball carrying and pace but depending on what type of team you want you could choose either. Luka Modric is the best midfielder of my generation in my opinion. He has everything, superb dribbling, awareness, passing, first touch, is very good in tight areas and runs the midfield in most games he plays he is also very fast running with the ball. Real Madrid hadn't won a champions league for 12 years before he joined and then won 5 in 9 seasons and he was absolutely integral to each one, without Modric they simply are not winning those champions leagues. He can also tackle and does not shy away from contact. Xavi and Iniesta are the same level and I wouldn't argue with anyone putting them ahead of Modric but it's Modric for me. He also fully deserved the Ballon D'or contrary to the narrative. In regards to Neymar being closer to Ronaldo than Ronaldo is to Messi. I believe Messi is the best but Ronaldo is quite clearly better than Neymar. Ronaldo 2008-2015 was an absolute joke of a player Neymar isn't even close to that Ronaldo.

Messi has more chances created because Barcelona’s ideology was to keep the ball , which obv meant Messi would be on the ball more , hence giving him the opportunity to create chances. Whereas on the other hand , for majority of his career in united and Real Madrid , ronaldo played in a team which played a counter attacking style of football. This obviously limited ronaldo’s chances to create. However I ain’t denying that Messi is a better creator , in fact I think he’s overall more balanced. Ronaldos the goat for me , because of his ability to step up when it matters the most. I’ll explain this further… Now those who say Messi has a better goal ratio are idiots. Even tho it’s fax , they lack significant context. Ronaldo used to play as a right midfielder till 07/08 , which deteriorated his goal ratio. I think there’s a stat where at a point messi was 28 goals ahead of him in the CL. Also , ronaldos done it in 3 different leagues, we saw how bad messi’s goal ratio is in league 1 Thirdly , talking about more motm awards , I’d take a player who scores and makes a difference in big games , rather than someone who gets a man of the match against the likes of eibar , levante etc. Not saying Messi hasn’t performed at a big stage , but not even remotely close to the levels of Ronny
