even to this day, i reckon Ronaldo V-football was the best soccer game. i hope the company remakes it with slightly better graphics. however, for me, it was the boxy graphics that makes the rememberable

Didn't like the annoying Eric Cantona intro for Nike but the intro for this game, fantastic. Love the music. La..la...la...la........la la la la. Very fitting with the Brazilian star. I remember this game when it was released and I agree it was a lot easier to get started with this game without the usual EA myriad of settings and tweaks. Gameplay was pretty good and fluid. I do feel it game Fifa Soccer a run for its money. Nice in-game commentary. Very similar to ISS. Great review as always.

At the time this surpassed all the others in terms of aesthetic and gameplay. I found it extremely difficult to score, but that was probably because it required more skill than I have. I still absolutely loved it though! This was a golden era for football games, with a whole range of competing titles. Now for some reason there only seems to be FIFA and PES.

@DLiberator78 I can totally understand what you mean about the Nike intro but it had some great video in there so I tagged it onto the beginning lol. I think I actually got this game on or very close to the release day as I I remembered picking it up when there was loads of posters hanging in stores for it. You used to be able to purchase this on the PlayStation store a few years back, not sure if it’s still there though. Otherwise you can download the game file online and pop it on a raspberry pie of PS Mini unit.

Nah ISS pes 2 was football king during the PS1 era also @ 9:06 u mention it was hard to score outside of the box in fifa 98 and 99. Dude have u even played them back then? They were both known for having weird glitches where the ball would go past the goalkeepers hands. There was one glitch in FIFA 99 where you ran on the sidelines and instead of crossing just shot the ball and in 60% of the time the ball would go past the goalkeepers hands. And fifa 98 was the same. How i know? I spent hundreds of hours playing both back then
