Coors Banquet "Double Down"

When I was in college Coors Banquet (Coors Light did not exist) was sold in only a few western states. It had a cult following due to its popularity and scarcity. I remember reading that actor Paul Newman binged on Coors. Henry Kissinger had it flown to his Washington, D.C. home. President Gerald Ford brought back cases of Coors to the White House from his Vail, CO vacation home. In Texas, Coors was sold in only Amarillo and Lubbock. Some of my fellow students at Texas Tech would load up their cars with cases of Coors and drive back to their hometowns such as Dallas or Houston and sell them for a nice profit. While not a favorite of mine, Coors has an interesting history.

Coors Banquet is a good one. I got a 6 pack today as a revisit, and for what it is I enjoyed it. From the big 3 (Bud, Miller, and Coors) this is my favorite. And that Coors Baseball Bat bottle is awesome. Cool Design. Cheers!

I had this classic lager for the first time in my life this evening. A local store randomly had damaged 24 oz. can for $1. Considering it's a beer I have wanted to try, I couldn't pass up that offer. I paired it with Marmite on sourdough toast. I love those special edition baseball bat bottles! Wow. This has possibly become my favorite American lager. I enjoyed it thoroughly! Wonderful review, as always.

Very underrated brew. Picked up 4 24 oz cans tonight. Had one of them in the freezer for 50 minutes perfect. Even the other ones were great. Definitely a slept on beer. I like craft here and there but always go with AAL because of budget. As far as light for me it’s Coors light and Miller lite then bud light. The regular beers I’d go MGD, High Life, Banquet and Bud. Banquet over everything if you don’t mind the extra buck or 2 over High Life lol

Colors Banquet is probably my favorite macro beer (equaled only by Narragansett). You were wondering about the brewery code, well without decoding it I can tell you it was brewed in Golden, CO. Banquet only comes from Golden. The tour is very interesting, and I encourage you to head out there!

I remember seeing Coors extra gold when I was a kid but by the time I got into high school in about 04 it was nowhere to be found. Coors Banquet has always been one of my two or three go to macros. You really can't beat it. If there's anything wrong with this beer I don't know what the hell it is

Profundity.. Nice word drop. I haven't tried it yet, since we only have 12 packs, and on a convenience store paycheck, it aint easy buying a 12 pack, unless I'm kinda into it ( I drink 2 Om ice's 24oz a night to relax, in moderation). As a small town convenience store manager, i can say we sell 2 cases a week to the same usual customers. Coors cans, "you can fill you're house with it", Nice. I have mentioned you're videos to people at my store for brands and types of beer they are wondering about. I get to inventory our small amounts of beer we carry, and stock it when the beer comes in off the truck, and Ive been watching your vids ever since i got into what beers we carry at the store! you're videos have been a big help to a lot of our customers, So as a Schlitz gusto and Om Ice drinker, should i take the dive to get a 12 pack? love the video!

I like Coors Banquet a lot. I'm not a beer snob anymore. I do enjoy the big commercial lagers. They're crisp. You know how much I like the coors heavy, way better than light. Have you seen any extra gold around SLA lately? I have not seen it here in the last 2 years but may ask if my local store can order some. Re VS anybody who ever fished in the spillway knows what Vienna sausage is baby! Extra gold is great. But around here it is one of the more expensive macros. About 20 dollars for a 30 pack. Don't understand why. It receives no advertising and is just about 2 dollars shy of a budweiser 30 pack which is heavily advertised.

you mentioned rolling rock in pint cans, which is my favorite configuration. but but last two times I've purchased it, it was awful! tasted like canned corn water. no barley flavor whatsoever. they even issued me a refund and a free t-shirt. im very gun shy about trying it again. I've always enjoyed it previous to that.
