I was at Game 1 of the playoffs vs. Oakland in 2001 when he sang. This was maybe a little over a month after 9/11. Many fans in tears. An experience that I will never forget!

Ronan, thank you again for all you did for us during the horrific events of 9/11, from the countless events and close to 70 funerals for the FDNY, Port Authority and NYPD. When you were abandoned by some of NYC when you were falsely accused of being an anti-Semite, those of us that know and love you, know the truth will always stand by you... Thank you, brother!

As a 48 year old life long Yankee fan, I was lucky enough to be able to spread my Dad's ashes in the stadium by the left field foul pole 4 days before the last game was played. Watching this video and looking down the line brings tears to my eyes as I listen to Ronan and the rest of the great Yankee fans sing God Bless America. Some Americans just dont know how lucky we are to live in the greastest country in the world!!!!!!

I think he was provoked was he in the wrong yeah but somebody was looking for trouble. Very sad as a Reds fan whose not a Yankees fan obviously Ronan did this song so great the hair on your neck would stand up thats how great he did it.

I have to agree with you. I'm also a lifelong Sox fan and what this guy does is amazing. Speaks to the tradition of our great game. I was especially sweet when I was at game 7 of the 04 ALCS knowing that we only needed 9 outs to punch our WS ticket!

This man is a MUSE of this blessed song. He should be given a lifetime contract to sing at any Yankees home post season game. Furthermore, it should ONLY be acapella. Thumbs up if you agree!!

So relevant now too. In USA it was September 11; in France it is November 13. 9/11 in USA, 13/11 in France. USA lost more than 3000, France nearly 300. But I will sing the anthems forever: Le Marsellaise and Star Spanlged Banner.

Are people tired of God at baseball games? I am, so new lyrics. After all it is people, like you and I, who make America great. Try belting it out yourself this way, in the goosefleshing Tynan style, and imagine the whole stadium joining in: I bless America, land that I love. I stand beside her, and guide her, Through the night with the light from above. From the mountains, to the prairies, to the oceans white with foam, I bless America, my home sweet home. I bless America, my home sweet home!

Well, thats all well and good and i do want God to bless America, as well as Iraq,Afghanistan& the entire world. As a veteran myself i love my country and respect those who serve...my point is that this is a baseball game. Lets leave the flag waving out of it becasue it becomes political, over 40 young service men were killed in July in Afghanistan and hardly a peep is heard...just the singing of this song. Peace

@gsumpter11 I kinda disagree with that statement. It's been proven time and time again, that if the people want something bad enough and make enough noise about something, then things can change. Yankee fans need to make a statement. NOT BUYING STADIUM TICKETS for about 10 home games, would I think get Yankee management's attention. Just my opinion.

how about "Take Me Out To The Ballgame"? This is just a reaction to 9/11...if you were in Cuba or China at an event and sometime in the middle of that event a patriotic song was sung I would think that was out of place....so is this. Peace!

Dr. Tynan has never claimed to be a "great tenor" HIS CRITICS HAVE SAID HE IS!!! As for the Reagan Funeral, you sing in front of over 1 BILLION PEOPLE around the globe and tell me how nervous you'd be. Cut the guy some slack!
@robyculver17 жыл бұрын
No, judging a guy buy what some P.R. person says they should do to help their public image, and not by how they treat the people around them is pathetic. Assuming that one sound engineer is an idiot just because the ones he's worked with in the past are idiots is pathetic.

I wouldn't have removed him for his comments but for the fact that when he sings God Bless America at the Yankee games he takes way too long. It really ruins the flow of the game.
