Although I'm a Red Sox fan, I have to say I have nothing but the utmost respect for the Sandman. Being the closer for the same team for 17 seasons is a feat in and of itself. Being the best at it year after year is another. Not letting it go to his head? Now, that's respectable. This man exemplified how all baseball players should be, and he will be remembered for decades (if not centuries) to come as one of the best players ever. As much as I detest the Yankees, I must admit I always loved to watch Mariano Rivera play the game, because he played it the right way.

Plus saying that he blew the 2004 series was a bit misleading when he was actually among the least of the problems with how Gordon starts struggling at inopportune time in Game 5 which puts Mo in a position that would be difficult for any closers in general and the fact that the Yankees offense suddenly starts messing up scoring opportunities after Game 3. You made it sounds like he was the sole reason for the loss which is far from the truth.
