@shair00
@shair00 8 жыл бұрын
Cane Sugar We will never see that fight, we live in a society where punching a women is never ok, even in a sporting event. Could she beat MANY men in her weight class? Yes simply because she could get them to the ground before taking alot of punches. Remember I said in her wieght class, not 145 and above, but thats just common sense.
@dowddash
@dowddash 8 жыл бұрын
+shair00 It would be interesting. You can see the differences between men and women in The Ultimate Fighter Season 18 when they trained together, the 135 guys were just too big and strong for the 135 women.Most of the men you see walk around at 160 pounds and cut to 135 where as Ronda is usually around 150. The guys also still tend to have a lot more muscle at the same weight so I'd give them the big physical advantage.Ronda is crazy skilled but I just don't see her beating any of the top 30 guys, let alone top 5. Hell Tiago Dos Santos is ranked 44th and he'd most likely crush Ronda.

+jiquelill jordan NO! She was a damn fraud that fought a bunch of smaller fighters. The UFC packaged her well. It's not that she wasn't good in some respects, it's just that she was more hype than substance. That's why there is such a backlash against her. The backlash should be against the UFC more than Rousey.

You'll know when women's MMA is competitive when the same woman doesn't win with the same move every fight at the top of the game. It's a domination of a weak field by a decent athlete.
@OGT1993
@OGT1993 10 жыл бұрын
She is tapping guys in the UFC in training... Not sure what your definition of "decent athlete" is. Just because you know it is coming does not mean you can stop it. She has a really fucking good arm bar.
@I_Art_Laughing
@I_Art_Laughing 10 жыл бұрын
OGT1993 She's tapping guys in training? You mean when rolling? That means nearly nothing. I've had 12 year old boys tap me while rolling. Simple reason is that you are PRACTICING. Sakuraba had an excellent armbar and still knocked a bunch of guys out. I have watched enough sport to see what a non-competitive field looks like. Take women's college basketball, note Uconn. Are they good? Yes. Are they like Red Auerbach's Celtics? Not nearly. I'm not talking about the differences in physiology I'm talking about girl's sports not being as competitive. Ronda Rousey "domination" is a classic example of this, as opposed to a Federer/Nadal/Djokavich scenario where you have three men driving each other to higher levels of performance. Most athletes will tell you that a loss is their best teacher, a loss in a for real competition. The fact that Rousey can armbar isn't a tribute to her armbars, it is a dis to her opponents. I'm glad she does this, it lets me know she hasn't been pushed yet.
@I_Art_Laughing
@I_Art_Laughing 10 жыл бұрын
OGT1993 Here is an example of what I mean: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mile_run_world_record_progression#Women Look at the pre-IAAF era in the women's mile. Of the 18 world records between 1921 and 1967, 11 or them were set by three women (or 9 by 2 women). Half of the records in a 56 year period were set by two women (all but two records being set by Brits) . In the IAAF period (47 years) there have been another 13 records with one woman winning two. Based on the records I would say that the IAAF period was more competitive overall due to the progress of the sport as more competitors trained harder to achieve an advantage. Women's MMA is lagging by 20 years (analogous to the pre-IAAF period above). It's still in the formative phase and Ronda Rousey is an indicator. I think of Tito Ortiz's ground and pound, when it was "unstoppable", that is until someone showed up with a striking game and a takedown defense. Ronda Rousey is posing a problem looking for an answer. The fact that hardly anyone is trying doesn't make it a difficult problem.

nate cox Now go ahead and explain what that proves? Please explain how a knee to the liver, no doubt on the way down to the mat for an arm-bar, against an opponent with 7 fights disproves anything I really said. It was just a happy accident that the knee KO'd her, it's not as if Rousey had been 2 and 3/4's rounds and was looking for a way to gut check a win. Undefeated fighter, LOL.

Not a man,just a woman who has mastered her fighting technique. If a baby with baby strength grabs your fingers and yanks on them there will be pain,a baby can't lift heavy weights but with the right technique even a baby with baby strength can cause pain,so how much more pain and injury can a grown woman inflict with the right training and technique and grown up muscles?RIDDLE ME THIS, HATERS??????
