Great bike. I just finished festive 500 on this exact model that I got after your test and it was a great fun hitting the gravel and off road.

Clearly you don't know what off-road is ;-p

Well as a matter of fact I do quite a bit so you may shove your opinion up your arse... Clearly ;)

Maybe you should have wipe that marketing bullshit off your eyes, so you can stop repeating it. Gravel IS A ROAD, that's why it's called gravel road, so when you call it off-road you don't know shit. Clearly. Go into mountains for a 60km trip and see how you like it on an "off-road" gravel bike...
@raptuspl7 жыл бұрын
I do not need to go to the mountains as I have a pretty nice wait for it... off roads here ;) perfect for this kind of bike which allows you to go for a +100km through forests, fire and gravel roads without any problems. But well you probably know better and been working in bike industry longer then me and clocked more kilometres on all sorts of bikes and countries ahahhah. Here are some details about this bike rondo.cc/ruut-cf-series,60,pl (marketing bullshit spoiler alert).

so you mention fire road, gravel road, and forest. So you're saying off-road is: a fire ROAD, a gravel ROAD and a singletrack for casual hikers at any age in lowlands. That singletrack is there, because other people went into the woods for a casual walk, like to the park. That sumarises your "years of experience" and understanding what off-road is... I'm jealous. Gravel bikes are miss promoted. The fact it's shown here going over some flat rocks couple times over 4 minute timespan, is not a representative of what this bike is comfortable with. I can go over this on a recumbent bike over 4 minutes. I can't go on gravel or recumbent on a pity fire road in the mountains for 6h even at speeds around 45kp/h which would be mildly exciting on an off-road bike. And that's without mentioning an off-road terrain. Not an off-road bike, nor universal bike. This video is just another copy of what manufacturer is marketing for, or just a contract fulfillment.

A lot of people seem to be complaining that these bike are prohibitively expensive, but the Ruut range starts from £1600 for the Aluminium version, which is about the price I would expect for the spec and for a bike as versatile as it is.

Stunning videos, as always! Interesting feature, changing the geometry. I have a question though, isn't it way easier to make spacers at the bottom of the headtube, you know, the same size as normal spacers that you find under your stem and simply put them from top to button and keep both your handlebar height and brake alignment (especially rim break), or the fork offset and wheelbase would be that dreadful? Cheers)
@TomMarvin17 жыл бұрын
Alexander Maytower that becomes a lot trickier with tapered head tubes for a start, also the crown race off a headset is an interference fit with the base of the steerer tube and so your stem spacers wouldn't fit the steerer properly. Doing that would reduce the head angle and raise the bb - while my post new year woolly head can't process the exact impact on trail and steering geo right now I suspect a flip chip makes adjusting the geo a much tidier, easier to manage proposition too.

Salvotation the range of Ruut bikes starts at £1700, we also have the specialised allez in our range at 1000 pounds. We have a great value mtb in the next few days too.

what's up with that rubber band over front wheel hub??

It is for cleaning the hub. Just look up NS Bikes Rag+. It is from the same parent company. They have some good taste in design, I would say.

The head tube looks quite short and not a lot of scope for adjusting the handle bar height - I think the stack on the medium frame is 559 mm. Does anyone know whether the adjustable geometry really does give a more relaxed position suitable for bike-packing or less aggressive riding?

Drop bars on a mountain trail? "it's going to be a substitute for an MTB just put 2.1 650B tires." Just NO.
@perardua18617 жыл бұрын
All these boutique bikes are so expensive. I honestly think we're being had.....but of course these reviewers don't pay for their bikes do they. This not a key bike. It's not going to be ridden by the masses on your average Sunday bash, so how can they make these statements. In the past few years cycling has been taken over by the yuppies. Boils my piss.
@TomMarvin17 жыл бұрын
Hey Andy. The Ruut range starts at 1700 quid, so while not cheap, also not ridiculous. While we obviously don't pay for these bikes to test, we also don't get to keep them! As mentioned in the video, this bike was included as it's pretty much the only drop bar bike out there with adjustable geometry, which makes it unique and interesting. We also think it's a potential sign of things to come which is why it has been included. If you're interested in bikes for a Sunday bash then this might not be it, but there'll be a video on the 1000 pound specialized allez soon and as mentioned in the video on the emonda, the price range of those is incredibly wide. Many of the bikes in this video series are more expensive, but that's generally because the features that make them interesting are often introduced into pricier bikes before they trickle down to the more budget options - where budget options exist we have done our best to point them out.

Hi, maybe I was a bit harsh on this particular brand and my comments were aimed at cycling in general. I had a look at their model range and the alu framed spec looks very good. The spec and price is in the same ballpark as the Merida silex I've been considering so thanks for opening my eyes.
