There's something very discomforting knowing that Wings of the Goddess was a decade ago. I miss what this game used to be in 2004. Big part of my life. I know families that started from this game. People getting married, flying cross country to seek each other out. Very powerful game.

I loved logging out in this area after a party, logging back in flagging up and almost instantly getting an invite. For a short period of time this was the only music I heard ... less there was a campaign battle goin ; ; ... good times .... good times indeed.

Dragum Kirisute it is true thow isnt it. if they said we remaking this game with updated graphics and content i drop ff14 instatnly. Game was so social ff14 just a dungeon fest . ff11 u had to socialise why seeking party for 3 hours waiting on a healer hehe

@GuitarMarc89 XI was amazing in its prime. Spectacular music, graphics, and even though the gameplay/grind could be really tedious at times, it was still awesome. WoW's community and overall easiness doesn't even compare. FFXI was awesome.

FFXI first MMO I ever played. Still love it despite the changes. But playing games alone is... well not that fun. And since i know no one on FFXI anymore... And I agree FFXI a lot better than FFXIV.

Nathaniel the Seagull i soloed it once on bst but... I had uber pet gear acc att and -dmg taken stuff for pet and tons if zeta biscuits and its 1 move still a bitch hurts lol lvl99 bst ilvl119 with guttler and reward set up so food heals 2000+ hp onslaught + the grass hopper pets aoe skillchain is like 30k or so depends on the lvl if nm tho if its 119+ dmg be like 10-15k or less

Everyone come join the Nasomi private server! We have about 350+ on at all times! The server is locked in CoP era. Level cap is still 75 and the grind is still a bitch. ;)

..ah the fond memories.. I don't care what anyone says.. FFXI is better than FFXIV hands down. The new mmo is like a quick fix.. no depth, as shallow as 1 inch of water. The community in ffxiv is rancid, anti-social and not worth spit. Why oh WHY? couldn't they have simply remade this for PS4 while retrain ALL the features and facits of the original... What am I saying.. SE just doesn't want to capitalize on a good idea.

+Peter Santiago It's not a good idea, people are not into community and player to player interactions nowadays. You would need a very good idea with a very good execution, to sucesfully make Final Fantasy XI: The Second Coming. Until that day we have private servers.

I honestly would love for them to make a remake of ffxi there's no mmo that can give me the same feeling like ffxi did , and if they do make a remake don't forget about xbox one users I used to play 360 on this back in the day

They tried but nobody bought into FFXIV version 1.0 which I thought was way superior to ARR. So they just made another WoW clone.

Alan Lee FFXIV 1.0 had more issues than XI. The main issue being how inaccessible it was. It had higher requirements than ARR and no PS3 support... job system was stupid, and it was a very much incomplete game even compared to XI pre CoP. I think an actual social MMORPG with a complete world to adventure and areas that are dangerous even for high level players could still be successful. Not a purposely incomplete game that's released too early. Part of what made XI great was it stuck closer to the roots of final fantasy too. XIV was truly a new age final fantasy where the jobs were originally unrecognizable.. given stupid names for no reason.

i dunno, with FFXIV out for PC (why not console yet...) im actually suprised they still have FFXI servers running at all. though i would gladly get back into the game and play free, even if it meant that i need to start from scratch again
