Ron, a big thumbs up to this video. I bought the flowzone cyclone 2.5 at Siteone in my area today. I got it for $219. I used it to put down some sedgehammer to combat the infestation of nutsedge in an area of my lawn. I had fun with the cyclone 2.5, it's absolutely easy to use. I watched your video yesterday and decided to invest in the flowzone. I think it's a good choice. 👍

Excellent comparison with so much great information Ron. A lot to consider being I am definitely in the market for an upgrade in the very near future. Been leaning towards the Typhoon 2 for a bit, having heard a lot of great stuff about it and though less important I really like the look / appearance of the product as well. Just deciding if it is worth the added expense compared to alternatives. Either way looking forward to getting something new and putting the not so great experience I have had with the Sprayers-Plus battery sprayer behind me. Great vid as usual.

@@RonHenry interesting , I have not had the best experience with their other tools (Ryobi) that I have used in the past , everyone has their own experiences but their products tend not to last very long for me. Especially their batteries (Ryobi), for me anyway their batteries do not last particularly long and I find myself often having to replace the batteries altogether ; which ends up being rather costly. Cheaper up front often comes with less of a lifespan and more long term expenses , like frequent battery replacements. I would personally be wary of investing in a Ryobi sprayer just based on my past experiences with their products but hopefully they work out well for people who buy them.

In April of 2018 I got the Chapin 63985. In late 2019 and again in early 2020 I was having issues with the power and the pump. There was a leak around the pump on the bottom causing bad contact. There would be green corrosion on the contacts that I would clean off but it would work seldom. I have not had a chance to use it this year. But it's a good pump when it works. I like the big opening and the red tip. The back straps did not bother me because I was only treating 2,000sqft.

Hey Ron! I JUST discovered your channel and I am SO inspired by the videos that I have watched so far! SUCH great content and information!! I live in Indiana (SUPER clay soil!!) and honestly have a pretty tiny yard. I have taken a look at a some of the products that you have displayed and recommended. A number of the products that you use from Mirimichi Green are sold in batches that are large enough to cover 16,000 square feet!! My yard is at best between 2000-3000 square feet. I'm completely open to purchasing enough of these products for multiple applications... but 16,000 square feet... that would take me DECADES to use up that much product!! LOL!! Is there a way to purchase these products in smaller batches for smaller yards? It's just... spending over $1000 on these products for a tiny yard... that's pretty cost prohibitive. One last question: Anything you'd recommend for hardcore Indiana clay soil? Again... COMPLETELY inspired by your videos and just subscribed to your channel! Thanks in advance!

I have both. I got a Flowzone Typhoon 2.5 from a pesticide supply store in my area. I was excited to get the Flowzone but I am very disappointed now that I have used it for a few months. The number one problem is that there are 5 settings on the newer Typhoon but the company does not tell you what the psi is for each setting and even at the lowest setting it just puts out solution too fast. I literally cannot walk as fast as I need to. My lawn is L shaped and it just becomes too awkward to walk with over 30 lbs on my back at almost a light jog. As a result I end up having to reload the sprayer and finish up my lawn and that is a pain especially when it is 100 degrees and above.
@RonHenry
@RonHenry 3 жыл бұрын
I hear you there Jerry. Running it at the Flowzone at 115psi is challenging for most people. You have to walk a lot faster than people realize. Most are better off running the sprayer at the 70psi rate. The new 2.5 supposedly has markings for the various psi levels so you can actually know what pressure you're spraying at. Maybe try making a mark on the dial at a lower flow rate and see if that works for covering your lawn with a single tank. From what I remember your lawn is 4k square feet right?

@@RonHenry Yes I have one bucket for all my liquid ferts only. Then another bucket for herbicides, fungicides and insecticides that are safe on Bermuda. Anything that is not safe on Bermuda is mixed as needed in 1gal pump sprayer. No mixer is needed for this because the volume is so small that simply shaking the pump sprayer is enough.

Should be able to find it online PJ but I would get the Yard Mastery sprayer instead. Similar price and comes with an assortment of spray tips saving you time and money. golfcourselawn.store/products/yard-mastery-4-gallon-backpack-sprayer

So 1 minute 31 seconds to output 1 gallon? YardMastery advertises 1 gallon per minute. Why isn’t the gpm advertised on most of the backpack sprayers ?

It varies depending on the spray to you’re using.

There needs to be a sprayer like these that has an agitator spray going into the tank to keep the mix suspended.

They do exist Lemony. Just not in backpack sprayers. That's more of a professional sprayer market thing.

The design flaw on the Chapin you pointed our is 150% correct. The Chapin is a "never again" purchase! The leaks destroyed the wiring connections....located directly under the water!!! Brilliant design, Chapin!!! (NOT!) 🙂

That stinks. Good thing is there are several great options these days. Hopefully you’ve got a better one now.

@@RonHenry I tore the thing apart one of the connecters going into the motor was broken off it’s a stationary motor nothing moved on the outside of it it makes no sense at all I soldered it put a piece of gorilla duct tape on it just cause it made me feel better and it’s working but it’s very frustrating plus you get chemical all over yourself there’s no way around it. I will definitely try something different next time.

Just great we have all this equipment to spread out these cancer causing chemicals all over the place. Otherwise, great video. I wish I could find something that doesn't have any plastic.
